Great stay!

Could not have asked for a better place to stay. Breakfast was really good for a hotel. Great location if you are going to six flags. Free shuttle by the hotel to six flags that will drop off and come get you. Staff was very welcoming. Room was very clean. I have no complaints. Only reason I gave the “”service” 3 stars instead of 5 when asked for extra towels while getting in the shower I was told I had to come get them. Everywhere else I’ve stayed has brought them to the room. But still a Great hotel.

Will never stay here again. What used to be a great option has declined over time and this last stay was the final straw. I was locked out of my room multiple times during my stay. Once for hours. I was then placed in a room that had two small beds ultimately being displaced from the suite I paid for as well as all of my belongings other than what I was wearing and my purse. There was no apology and no offer for even a toothbrush especially given that I had nothing. Then at 5 am someone came to the room and said that I could go back to my original room. Again no apology just “here you go have a good one”. Just before 930 am I left to get breakfast, returned to my room and was locked out again. I called the office and was immediately told “ok well we will move you”. I told her that that was not an option because again my items were in the room. After sitting at my door for some time, someone came tried the key then asked me if someone was in the room. I said the only people that should be in the room are standing outside of it. He then went somewhere, came back and was finally let into the room. I called the desk to ask for some form of compensation. This was denied. I was ultimately only given the opportunity to check out late which I asked for because I was locked out of my room for hours the night before and then abruptly woken up at 5 am. To say I was tired was an understatement. The bottom line is that I wil never stay here again nor will I recommend this to my colleague

A score of 9 out of 10 is about right

I chose to try this hotel because it'd gotten a "9 out of 10" rating online. After a couple of nights I can confirm that's an accurate score. This is an excellent place with a few things that keep it from obtaining a 10. It's obviously a mature property but has been kept up well. The interior appears to have been recently remodeled. Spaces...including our room...were very clean. The exterior shows signs of age but still looks good. We appreciated room amenities, particularly the choice of Dove soaps and shampoos. I was impressed by all the recycling receptacles in rooms and by elevators, and the TV worked well. This property sits close to Six Flags over Texas. Our room overlooked the park We heard only a little crowd noise during the day, but noise is surely a bigger problem during tourist season. I found a couple of negatives more irritating. The check-in clerk wasn't particularly personable. He only seemed interested in completing required transactions, not greeting customers. Consequently, he gave the hotel a rather bad first impression. Fortunately, all other workers we met were much nicer. We were provided a pretty decent "hot breakfast" featuring unremarkable eggs, pork sausage, biscuits and gravy...and cook them yourself waffles. Other options were lacking. Only 2% and whole milk were available from pitchers. They didn't offer decaf coffee and I didn't see bottled hot sauce for the eggs. Overall, though, we had a very nice visit and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
