My wife and I stayed at the Dusit Davao for 7 days in August, 2024. It was our 2nd visit; we also stayed in August, 2023.
The staff are mostly friendly and seem to smile. That is the extent of the positive experience.
Unfortunately, the majority of it was very disappointing with several significant issues.
1. Many areas are moldy and dirty. Dead cockroaches are common (we saw some in the same place for the entire duration of our stay).
2. The balcony areas were not cleaned well, if at all. There is a significant amount of dirt, bird poop and grime from the air conditioning units & did not appear touched the whole stay.
3. The air conditioner vent leaked so bad that water was pouring into the kitchen area. This occurred twice. The 1st time the engineering staff cleaned it but did nothing to fix it so it was not a surprise it happened again. The 2nd time, following additional prodding, it may have been fixed but we left shortly thereafter so who knows. Judging by the mildew and worn paint near the vent this was not the 1st time it happened.
4. The service is painfully slow for a 4 star property. It was common for a coffee in the lobby lounge to take 20 minutes. Food orders were met with a response noting "it will take 20-35 mins" but it was often almost an hour; even for basic menu items.
5. Housekeeping unable to provide clean washcloths daily.
6. Zero concern by staff of how the stay was; never asked & when issues were noted they did not seem to care.
