Finding a place to stay for one night seemed unlikely, but I stumbled upon this beautiful listing and booked it very easily. The hostess commuicated quickly and was accommodating.
My husband and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary. It was a pleasant surprise to find chilled champagne and glasses waiting for us. The place was a bit further out than expected, but that just added to the peaceful atmosphere. The house was incredibly clean and beautifully decorated. Pets are welcome and it was obvious by the addition of paw print towels, extra leaches and doggie treats. We enjoyed the beautiful outdoor space, the comfortable king bed, gorgeous shower and lovely space.
We decided on dinner at Casa Torres- (2708 S Fm 51, Decatur, TX 76234) Delicious Mexican food and great service. The next morning, we left the wonderful guesthouse and ventured to the town square. We ended up having coffee at Trinity Street Coffee Bar where it's brewed hot and fresh.
The Woodland Escape was a quiet, cozy place to stay and just what we needed for the new year.
