Depreciating value.

Staff was decent. This not being our first stay at the property, we expected the usual. However, the property has consistently gone down hill in comfort and condition. King room mattress was worse than the mattress on the sofa bed. Shower door and bathroom tile condition poor.

Overall it was a good experience but we found a big pinkish/red stain on the sheets when we went to bed and the glass shower door wouldn’t stay shut so water went everywhere. The staff was very nice and the breakfast was great.

Perfect Nights Stay

It was absolutely perfect, from the moment we were greeted by the person at the front desk to last moment we were saying good bye. We were only staying one night and didn't know what to expect but the price was right and the access to the Skywalk were the reasons we chose Hyatt Place. Now we are staying there again because of everything else. The room was large and clean. The bed was very comfortable, and the free breakfast was spot on. Great job and thank you!

OK for a quick trip

The staff at front desk were good; courteous and informative. Room OK, but unimpressed with bathroom. Lighting was dim, adjustable showerhead didn't work well at all, and the shower door didn't close properly. And the price I was told I'd have to pay to park in the garage across the street was insane for downtown Des Moines on a nothing weekend. It was more like what I'd expect for San Francisco or Chicago. Breakfast was OK, pretty standard for selection and quality among this level of hotel. Otherwise, pretty average.
