Awful, keep looking
Entire building was under construction. There was a note in the listing, however I was not at all expecting it to be as bad as it was. No access to the beach view balcony attached to our unit. No access to the outdoor amenities (hot tub, pool, splash pad), then indoor hot tub was also not open and the indoor pool was closed for a little while too. The outdoor seating on the beach was not kept up with by the building. It was covered in sand. Now to the actual unit… because the construction will end.. the unit just sucks. Great location. That’s it. The carpet is gross feeling and had sharp things in it by the dinner table. My guest and I both stepped on something super sharp and had to make sure we wore our shoes inside the rest of the stay. The bed is a spring mattress and so uncomfortable. Four small pillows on a large king sized bed, and just sheets on the bed. The shower had hair in it from the previous guest. The AC needs to be updated majorly. It is so loud, and sounds like you’re going to take off to the moon in the middle of the night. When I found out about the construction having all of the amenities closed at once, I tried reaching out to the owners to see if I could get a refund or moved to another location and they were not understanding at all. Do not rent from VaCasa at all! Worst property management company ever.

DO NOT RENT
The condo is TERRIBLE. It’s run-down. It’s dirty. The recliner that was one of the main reasons I rented this place is missing. The carpets feel grimy. There is a shower liner with no curtain. The fixtures are gross and rusting. Half the lamps don’t work. The boys had no bedding (thank goodness for Mimi’s blankets!) or pillows (thank goodness we had extra). Our bedding is a thin blanket and is not warm. Our bed feels like a pull-out sofa like the boys are in. A number of the slats are missing on the sliding door blind so I had to rig it so the sun wouldn’t rise in the boys’ faces. There was something brown and gross on one of the toilet seats that we didn’t notice until AFTER our immunocompromised child touched it. The main entrance is blocked off for construction so we had to back into the front to unload. The pool is closed for construction. It’s just all so disappointing. We paid $2,800 for this trip - and we ended up leaving this morning (instead of Tuesday) because we just couldn’t take the awful condo anymore. I hope we get at least a partial refund. Extremely disappointed.

This unit needs maintenance. The following are things we experienced. The ramp to the front door of the building was blocked due to construction, jackhammer and construction noise starting at 8:00 in the morning, bathtub drain partially blocked standing water while showering, a 6 inch diameter patch of paint on the bathtub ceiling is hanging loose, toilet seat in master bath was completely loose, 5 slats are missing from the vertical balcony blinds, the lighting in the bedroom was 2 lamps, only one had a bulb in it. The light switch on the bedroom wall did not turn on any lights, we had to walk through a dark bedroom to turn on the lamp, no overhead light. Multiple electrical outlets did not function, kitchen cabinet drawer only opens a short distance before hitting oven door handle, there was no instructions on how to operate TV and cable box, there was no recliner as pictured in the leasing website. The positive part of our stay was the fabulous view of the beach and ocean from our eighth-floor balcony.

Nice, but needs some work
Overall, this was a “nice” place, but we stayed over New Years Eve, and a lot of the amenities I thought were offered were closed for winter. We were in unit 807, and there were some less than acceptable parts about the condo in general, like having to open the oven door in order to use the one kitchen drawer with the cooking utensils (that was weird) Also, having two toilets basically next to each other was also odd, as was the landline telephone on the bedside table that was not connected to a wall jack. My biggest struggle was finding someplace comfortable to relax. The bed was hard as a rock, as was the couch. The two swivel chairs were ok, but you can only sit straight up for so long IMO. Also, not having tv channels/cable service to watch the local news & only being able to “cast” from our phones less than desirable. The view from the balcony was great standing next to the railing, but again, the outdoor chairs were not comfortable and they were short so to watch the waves, you had to look through the railing. Having a taller set like many of the other units had would have been a lot more enjoyable. I was glad we went to check out the condo before heading to the grocery store as we needed to purchase hand soap for each bathroom/sink, and Kleenex. It was nice that bath towels, bed linens and toilet paper were supplied. Everyone we had interactions with at the front desk was pleasant, and the building is located close to stores and restaurants.

The resort building was undergoing noisy repairs at the time we stayed there which disturbed out stay. Plus various items, such as the hot tub and treadmill in the fitness centre did not work. Overall, the room was clean but the carpet, especially at the entrance to the balcony, was very dirty.

This unit was dirty & smelt like urine. You could feel the springs in the mattress, the refrigerator seal is covered in black mold/mildew. 3 out of the 5 outlets in the dining/living room did not work, ALL outlets in this unit are loose & wiggle. The patio door blinds were missing multiple pieces. The furniture is broken down & stained. The box that was built in the corner of the bedroom has become detached leaving holes and cracks..

Door lock malfunctioned several times during stay and had to be replaced. Molding around door is coming loose, water damage in several cabinets, and threshold between kitchen and living room kept coming up posing a tripping hazard. Shower didn’t want to drain and toilets didn’t want to flush. The staff was friendly and helpful. The shop downstairs is very convenient.

Great View and that is all...
Trip Stay 7/2/2023-7/9/2023. We opened the door to this condo and the odor took our breath away. It was a funky smell that probably is from the really old carpet in the living room. Being the humble travelers that we are we pushed through. We checked out the view from the balcony, and it is truly an amazing view. After looking at the emerald green water started unpacking our belongings. While unpacking my wife and I both noticed that we were starting to sweat. We went to the thermostat to check and it was set at 62, but the temperature was reading 79-uh oh. We looked in the closet and found a blower fan that you would use to try out carpet (imagine that). We plugged that in and started contemplating a call to the front desk. We decided to give the condo a chance. We went down to the beach to check things out and were happy with everything that the resort had to offer. After checking out the resort we headed off to Wal Mart for air freshener and a box fan. We arrived back from Wal Mart with a box fan, candles, some air freshener, and some other essentials. We opened the door and bam the smell knocked us down again. The temp was 77 which was the lowest it would get for our entire 7 night stay. The box fan and blower fan were going our entire stay. There were other issues: cleanliness, carpet in disrepair near the kitchen, patio furniture that needs to be replaced, WiFi does not work in the bedroom, I could go on and on. Worst condo EVER!!!!

Loved the place, location, everything about this place. If you’re looking for a nice getaway this is the place. The mattress was hard, but I’m spoiled and like my mattress squishy. I know you can’t please everyone with everything.

The room was outdated. We had to call maintenance the first day, due to the tub being clogged. They didn't supply enough soap for all the sinks, only two pods of dishwashing detergent was provided and two trash bags. We had to ask management for more supplies prior to leaving. The kids spray center wasn't working for most of the week. Then one or both outside showers and hot tub were shut down for repairs. Nothing was reported in the description about private umbrella not being allowed on the beach. Umbrella rental was required or you could rent the umbrella and chairs together. We have stayed at many resorts over the years and never have we stayed at a resort where you couldn't use your own umbrella.

Perfect location
The property was clean. We were provided a few basic supplies and toiletries that were a welcome addition. The bed was reasonably comfortable. Bathrooms were well stocked with towels, washcloths, and tp. The kitchen had all basic items to make easy meals and a dishwasher. Location is perfect with an absolutely amazing view. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. Thank you!

The view from balcony was the best
We loved the view from the balcony. The outside chairs need cushions. I enjoy sitting there day and night. Condo was clean. The bed was awful. I suggest a new mattress or go to Walmart and by a gel memory foam topper if will help. The bed is way to hard fo old bones. The check in process was awful. I go there early so they said check was at 4 unless we get a text. We went to buy some water and snacks for the room. Got back at 330 unloaded the car went to the counter at 3:53 and was told I could not have keys until 4🙄 I said I have to stand here 7 minutes and the guy said yes. I am not sure if it is owner or Condo rules but that was ridiculous to wait 7 minutes. But there were about 7 families waiting until 4 too. That is not good. And the elevators were messing up which made wait times to go up or down way to long. Even with the view I will not stay at SunDestin again.
