I booked this property for 3 nights, just me, to get away and relax. I checked in, all was smooth. Took a quick nap then started to make dinner. It was quiet and peaceful, just perfect. Then a mouse popped out from under the kitchen cabinet, right beneath the kitchen sink, and looked right at me. I screeched a bit, so it scurried back and escaped under the lip of the kitchen cabinet. I stood in the living area/kitchen, frozen. Then it came out again!? From the same spot. I ran toward the door and it scurried under the lip of the kitchen cabinet. I went in the bedroom to find my phone and it came out a third time from the same spot, so I stomped my foot and it disappeared again. I immediately texted the after-hours service who was quick to respond. I explained I was not comfortable staying and they were very understanding. I packed up and headed to Wimberley to wait and see what the after-hours team told me. I followed up a few times to see if they had another property and they said they did not and that no one could help until the next morning after 8 AM. I live about an hour and a half away, so I just decided to head home and figure it out the next day. I called the office 5 times in the next 3 days. They never called me. Finally, they determined since I did not have pictures and their team did not find evidence of a mouse that I cannot be reimbursed. I'm out about 450 and not relaxed at all. TAKE PICTURES IF YOU SEE A MOUSE!!!!!
