This cabin is perfect! We arrived & were surprised to see a birthday banner & cake for my husbands birthday! And a beautiful basket of goodies! We were so surprised to have someone go out of their way like this. Lori & John are Fantastic Hosts! The cabin is phenomenal! Has everything you could want and more. They have done an amazing job with all the beautiful metal work & the fire pit area is amazing! We had a wonderful time! I Highly recommend & hope to return when we can enjoy the lake as it was fall. Exceptional property, space, amenities and hosts!
It was exceptional! The photos are accurate, the quality is high of the structure, fixtures, finishes and furniture. The kitchen is well stocked so you can cook a real meal. : ). The boat (for a fee), the kayaks and paddle boards enabled us to enjoy the water and fishing! The fire pit and yard games were great too! The hosts are wonderful people and we look forward to returning to this cottage on Pequaywan Lake!!

We stayed with 4 grkids. The accommodations were perfect. We loved the remote peacefulness. The kids had great fun fishing, swimming, and paddling right from the dock. We would highly recommend if you want a place away from crowds.

A three day get away with my son & grandson
It was a great time fishing with my boys. The cabin was like brand new, very clean and well organized, the fire pit up near the cabin was a great place to hang out in the evening and talk about our day fishing and being on the lake. The pontoon boat that the host provided suited our needs perfectly.

The house is perfect, just steps away from the lake! Everything was there, kayaks, paddle boats/boards, canoe, life jackets, bikes, you name it! Our kids enjoyed the fire pit and playing ladder golf. It was so much fun. We went to Duluth and enjoyed a train ride, walking on the beach, and canal park. John and Lori were very helpful with suggestions on things to do and places to visit. They were so nice and had everything ready for us on arrival, including supplies for smores! It was a great stay, we would love to go back! Highly recommend!

Grandma’s Marathon Mini-Vacation
Accommodations around the Duluth area can be hard to come by during Grandma’s Marathon weekend. We were so fortunate to find this gem! The owners provided everything you need (and more) for the perfect lake vacation! We enjoyed fishing, using paddle boats, paddle boards, kayaks, having nightly bonfires, and even took a bike ride with the provided bikes! The only downfall is that we stayed such a short time, we will be back for a full week in the future! 10/10 rating!! Thank You Lori and John for everything!

John and Lori were wonderful hosts! They respected our privacy while accommodating all our needs. They are the embodiment of being "Minnesota nice". The location is beautiful and the house was clean and inviting. it is perfectly located to get away and be close enough to so many beautiful locations. Wonderful Cabin!
My family and I had a great time at this little hideaway cabin. The place was well stocked with all the items we needed for a 6 day stay. There were fishing poles and all the gear and plenty of little fish to catch right off the dock. We enjoyed being outside and listening to the sounds of nature. There were comfortable beds and plenty of extra bedding. Toys for the kids were a big help! We highly recommend staying at this cozy little cabin, but would suggest bringing all of your food and necessities with you as there are very limited options nearby, but that has no bearing on the cabin itself. It’s a fantastic retreat!

Great "Up North" retreat
The cabin is very modern and slept all of us with ease. The lake view from the yard is gorgeous. Great fishing off the dock. My kids caught fish all throughout the day! We loved trying out the canoe, kayaks, paddle boards and paddle boat. It was really nice to have a fire pit both up by the cabin and again by the dock. We would definitely stay here. Lori and John are excellent hosts!

John and Lori have a great spot. They had a Happy Birthday banner and gift basket waiting for us along with a couple of cake pops in the freezer. That was very thoughtful. The cabin was very clean and nicely finished. It really was a great stay. John and Lori were both very responsive.

This property was amazing! Part of the reason we booked it, was because of its proximity to other fun activities but we could have spent our entire vacation at the cabin! The kids spent hours swimming, fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding. A great place to make lifelong memories!

Beautiful Lakeside Cottage
Our stay was perfect! John and Lori have a beautiful updated cottage with amazing woodwork. I fell in love with the doors and the island! The whole place was very clean and had everything we needed. Our boys love to fish and caught many fish off their little dock. We used their kayaks, paddle board and paddle boats. Along with the water toys, they had life jackets, fishing rods and tackle available for us to use. The lake was pleasantly quiet and everyone was very friendly. If we had any questions, Lori responded back quickly. We enjoyed our whole stay and are thankful to both John and Lori for opening their beautiful place for us to stay. Thank you for the treats and giving us a wonderful vacation! I have already recommended this place to a handful of friends. Hopefully we will be back someday!

You won’t regret this northern MN getaway!
You guys, this place is actually BETTER than the photos and description! Super clean, tons of convenient touches throughout with everything you could possibly need for relaxation and fun! The cabin has been beautifully remodeled and is comfortable and spacious. We have zero complaints staying with John & Lori and plan to tell all our friends and family about it. Honestly, there was a bit a kerfuffle with VRBO when it came to booking. I reached out to Lori and she got very quickly and we booked the property. She was prompt and very professional. Upon arrival, my family was knocked out by the cleanliness and the quaint nature of the property. Everything was right where it should be, including a welcome note on the fridge and a s'more / snack kit on the kitchen island. While the kids and I were fishing, Lori walked over and introduced herself and answered a few simple questions we had. The beds were comfortable, the accommodations were well appointed and the trip was a total success due to the great cabin we had. John popped over the second night while we were fishing and was very kind and answered more questions we had. This property is a gem. We had a wonderful time and are proud to recommend this cabin to families looking for a relaxing place with a welcoming, back home feel.

Lake Cabin
John and Lori are wonderful hosts. Their communication was great, and knowing they were available if we needed anything was appreciated. The cabin is beautiful and feels like home. There are many details in the cabin from the woodwork to the mood lights that made it special. The view from the cabin was awesome, especially at sunset. We were able to enjoy the pontoon to explore the lake, but they also had many other toys to play with in the water. We had a lot of fun using the paddle boat. Being a private lake made it very quiet. The fishing was good, and the water was clear for us to swim from our private dock. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. There are two firepits to use, one by the lake and the other by the cabin. Our family truly enjoyed our stay!
