Perfect anniversary retreat

My husband and I came here to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary together. We loved our cozy room with so many beautiful and well-appointed touches (delicious coffee, beautiful soaps, floral arrangements, luxurious bedding…), but the grounds were even more extraordinary. Every day, we walked in the woods, relaxed in the sauna, and listened to loons call across the lake. At night, we sat by the fire and watched the stars come out. Thank you to hosts Sheila and Darrin for curating such a special experience for our special occasion!

Relax and Rewind

Excellent Lake Escape

This is a really nice, smaller lake not far from Duluth and the north shore. Great amenities, like fire pits, saunas, kayaks, paddle boards, etc. The hosts were probably 2 of the best hosts we have ever had anywhere in the world. Very high praise!

Peaceful bliss

Simply amazing property on which to disconnect and relax. The loft is private and cozy. The boathouse is spacious and relaxing. The wood-fire sauna followed by a jump in the lake is fantastic.

If you don’t stay here, YOU ARE MISSING OUT. The apartment is super cozy and had everything we needed. The boathouse is absolutely amazing. It’s a perfect combo of all the updates for cooking but a relic from the 70s and perfect air flow for any time of day!!! Dock is great and super for an evening cocktail!!

Relaxing getaway

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here. We enjoyed a 5-night stay. If you are looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of life - this is the perfect place to relax and unwind. We rented the pontoon for a day of fishing, went on long walks and jobs and enjoyed the fire pit, boathouse and dock areas. Sheila and Darrin were fantastic hosts and we enjoyed their dogs Lucky and Willie as well! Sheila left us some baked treats on our last day which was a wonderful surprise!

Relaxing Romantic Escape

This cabin provided everything we wanted and surprised us with so much more. The property is lovely, tranquil and natural. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. It seemed like every time we spoke with them they pampered and spoiled us. I’m not sure when we will get back up to Minnesota, but I’ll sure be tempted to stay here again.

A perfect getaway!

The loft is amazing, lovely decor with all the necessities and more! Shelia and Darrin are the best hosts we have ever encounter with our rental stays - so friendly and generous. We loved the boathouse and the sauna and Darrin always offered to get the sauna started for us! The location couldn’t be more beautiful, the private lake is so peaceful and you are surrounded by beautiful trees! During our stay we saw some amazing northern lights! A total bonus to an already amazing stay! We look forward to coming back!

Escape (but not too far!)

My partner and I loved our stay at this sweet loft. The owners, Sheila and Darrin, were extremely hospitable and friendly, and we even got some time to get to know their dog, Lucky! We were given our space to relax and breathe, while also always feeling as though the owners were there if we needed them or had questions. The sauna was AMAZING, as was the view of the lake. This property is just far enough away from Lake Superior to escape the hustle and bustle of downtown Duluth while also being a short distance away from great hiking destinations, delicious restaurants, and other tourist-y locations. I cannot recommend this property enough! Thank you!

Wonderful Get Away

Everything about this stay was great. The hosts were communicative before we arrived and helpful with recommendations in the area. After we arrived, they graciously started the wood-burning sauna (OMG -heaven!) for us. The place was clean, cozy, comfortable, and relaxing. Check-in and check-out process was simple. P.S. The stars you can see from this location were gorgeous.

We had a great time here for a weekend getaway. The loft was so nice and cozy and Sheila was the best host. We got to enjoy the sauna, ice skating on the lake, fires, grilling, and Shelia even baked us some homemade scones one morning. Will definitely be back, cannot recommend this property enough!!! Great weekend getaway!

Shiela and Darrin's loft is exactly what my husband and I needed for a short getaway! It is peaceful and cozy, which allowed us to unplug and rest. The wood-burning sauna is amazing!

If you’re looking for a whimsy retreat, classic lake vibes, and emotional and physical relaxation, this is the place!! The Boathouse is a total DREAM. We soaked in time in the sauna followed by lake dips and the stress melted immediately. We had a fire roaring in the fire pit overlooking the lake as much as possible and the views of the water and stars was divine. Perfect fire-starting supplies on hand! Sheila and Darrin were the most amazing hosts, with thoughtful touches to make the experience extra special! We can’t wait to return!

Fantastic property with beautiful views and great amenities

Sheila made the check in process super easy and despite the heat made everything great with fans going when we got there to cool the loft down. We loved going for a kayak ride each morning on the beautiful lake and chilling on the dock/boathouse. Highly recommend
