While the property was lovely, I didn’t appreciate the 22:30hrs knock at the door to check our room for ‘smoke/smoking’ due to the insensitive people opposite us obviously smoking in their room.

I cannot fault this property at all. We went as a family of four. From check in to check out, everything was flawless. Our family room with a view over the castle was very clean and comfortable and so was the bathroom. We had drinks and dinner at the restaurant one evening and Martin was very attentive. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to Edinburgh.

The Apex hotel was very convenient to the Royal mile and the tourist hotspots and also within walking distance to Princess street. Also plenty of cafes and restaurants in and around the Grassmarket. The hotel has its own carpark which was a great bonus. We found the staff very pleasant in all areas, especially reception as we found them very welcoming and helpful.
