It is a truely dog friendly place, everyone so friendly including all the locals, the food is delicious we had a really enjoyable stay, . Only downside was no breakfast but we were told where we could get breakfast and we went to a little coffee shop also dog friendly, and it didn't disappoint.
Arrived and were offered a table for dinner even though we had t booked and they had a group of 20 in for Christmas Fayre. Food was ver good and freshly cooked. Ideally located for travelling into the city.
Staff incredibly helpful. Room small but perfect. Clean and lots of complimentary coffee. Evening meal in the pub was wonderful. Will definitely stay again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the room was quaint and comfortable, the staff were lovely and the restaurant had a delicious selection of foods and cocktails. All in all a wonderful stay.
Great spot. They held my luggage after an overnight flight. Rooms were quiet even in the weekend. Would stay here again

The riccarton inn is an old style coaching inn...it is cosy and full of character...the food is delicious. The rooms are clean but basic. They have en suite facilities...tea and coffee making facilities and a TV. The bed has cotton linen on it and they provide towels. It is ideally located on a main bus route into the city centre only 20-25 mins away. They don't provide breakfast but the room itself was only £58 for an overnight stay which is great value for Edinburgh. We had a comfortable night's sleep and would recommend this accomodation for any occasion.
The room and bathroom were large enough to move about. The towels and bedding were top notch! Hazel and her staff were wonderful! The bus stop in front of the building was a very convenient and economical way to go into the city center. We would return in a heartbeat!
Stayed the night before an early flight from Edinburgh, so handy as it was so near the airport. The single room was basic, but fine. The pub restaurant however was fantastic - great atmosphere, good choice of beers and wine, amazing food, and friendly service. They don't do breakfast, which wasn't a problem for me, but may be for some. Would definitely stay again.
Our last night in Scotland, close to the airport, very good price. We had a lovely meal, locale beer. Met the owner, was given a brief history of the old building. We even stayed in the pub for there Quiz night. Lovely

Full disclosure, I did not stay in the room so my rating does not include it.
Please note that they have limited check in hours -- which of course is wonderful for anyone with a flight arriving later on in the night. No one was available by call. And I was not given a refund.
The outside of the hotel looks just a little sketchy but they have made the most of the parking lot space and added seating & lighting. I'm sure during regular hours its very lively, and gives a homely feel.
It's also a pub! So if you're into having that available with a hotel, this might be for you!
The hotel is not THAT close to the airport (many other closer options available), and was about a 40 euro taxi ride (from airport around 10:30pm) so if you're looking for something close by, this might not be the best option. It is accessible by bus if public transportation is a consideration.

Tired and needs modenising
A cheaper option.
You get what you pay for.
Room was clean but very tired and in need of updating.
Bed was hard.
Food was excellent
Great place to stay for the price, with fantastic transport links into Edinburgh City Centre and their own parking, would definitely stay there again if I had an event in Edinburgh. Sadly I didn't get to try their food as I was not around for mealtimes but the menu looked lovely and also very fairly priced. The 11am checkout time is great and they were really friendly about me being a little early for check-in after a long journey

Lovely stay
Stayed for the Tattoo - very reasonably priced when other hotels charge through the nose!! Pub/Restaurant excellent - lovely food - had evening meal and 2 breakfasts - all excellent so well done to the chef!! Rooms basic and in need of a wee makeover (esp bathroom in room 5) - otherwise, cant fault it at all. Also on main bus route - very good bus service - got into the city centre in 20 minutes. Would definately stay again - thanks to all
Good option, quick train ride to the city centre. Nice place to stay, relatively quiet in the evenings. Helpful staff and good breakfast in the morning worth the cost. Very worthwhile for the money paid
