It is EXACTLY as portrayed in the listing. Beautiful, quiet bay off the front porch. We had breakfast out there and watched the fog lift (and then come back. Lol. And then lift again) every day.
When the tide is out, you can walk along Fortune Bay and collect shells and sea glass. We saw blue herons every day and as we were leaving, some seals or maybe porpoise came to say bye.
The cottage is spotlessly clean and has everything you could need. Very comfortable beds and soft bedding and towels etc.
The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, even measuring cups if you feel like baking something. But why would you when there are excellent bakeries on PEI.
We had a lot of rain, so we would sit in the screened in side porch and we could still enjoy the view of the bay.
A great place to explore the east end of the island. Little harbour Beach and Basin Beach have soft white sand with red cliffs. Looks exactly like the travel brochures.
A bit of a drive to Cavendish Beach and North Rustico, but it gives you a chance to enjoy the rolling hills and to see the interior farms of the island.
The town of Souris is small but has everything you need: grocery store, bank, interesting shops, pretty harbour and lighthouse. It is a wonderful spot away from the noise and crowds of the larger, more touristy areas. Cathy provided suggestions on local sites and restaurants etc.
We are already talking about when we are going back.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful spot with us.
