We stayed at this property for a week and had a wonderful time as a family. Our kid enjoyed the pool, slides, and also was very fond of the staff at the Kids Club (Riu Land). The grounds were very well kept and we enjoyed our sunset strolls on the beach. Diamanté Adventure Park (the Animal Sanctuary) right next door is recommended - take the free shuttle bus. Other than Diamante, there's nothing around the resort so I suggest renting a car if you want to explore beyond the immediate area.

I expected much more out of this place.

Hotel check in didnt take long, but they forgot to give us towel cards. Our room was clean, yet outdated. Towels in the bathroom looked so used that they changed color to washed up brown and quality deteriorated significantly. Shower curtain was old and disgusting, and shower head was old, rusty and unevenly pouring water. Water pressure is an issue at this property; some days there would be no warm water pressure at all. 2 elevators close to our room were under construction and every day we had construction noices from 7am till about 3pm. Locals who sell souvenirs at the beach are rude and pushy, they call hotel guests names assumung that gueats do not speak spanish. A la carte restaurants did not accept reservations, so guests had to line up in front an hour before the place opens up in order to eat there. Front desk did not have enough money for the money exchange. There was no WiFi in hallways and closer to the beach, only in Lobby, Main Buffet, and rooms. No WiFi on the beach. Beach chairs were very dirty, many of them broken and just sitting at the beach. Rooms were spacious and dis not have smell of mold like in ther Caribbean Destinations, but things like switches, lamps, safe were either broken or banged up badly. Road to the hotel is vwry bad and bumpy, traffic driving there added additional 20-30 min of transit time. Hotel Grounds were clean, well kept and beautiful.

Beautiful exterior. Rooms are old and need major upgrades. A lot of walking . If you want seating at the pool be prepared to get there early. Food is average but many options. Nice beach and pool complex.

Beautiful location. Very nice resort. Awesome pool. Property is like 3 resorts in one. Easy access to beach. Friendly staff. The hot water could be tricky. Our room must have been very, very far from hot water heater as sometimes the water had to be run for 10 minutes before it would get hot. We had someone break into the safe in our room, most likely using the master key slot which was found to be damaged so that the Manager's master key would not open the safe. The manager said damaged master key slots were not that uncommon- that should have been a sign that he has a significant theft problem. He appeared to be in denial about this.

Property is run-down, in need of repair. Timings for dining areas were not respected - usually closing prematurely for breakfast. Restaurants were closed unexepectedly when fewer guests on property. Our room door lock was changed, leaving us wondering if we had right room or were using the key wrong etc. Toilet not flushing well, odourous. Elevators broken most of the time. Reception was not helpful in addressing our concerns. Apparently they will close down for 6 months to renovate.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful well kept gardens with landscaping that provided lots of natural shade around the pool areas. Well organized and fun social events and opportunities for excursions from the hotel. Our room was situated on the east side of building overlooking the sanctuary which meant we awoke with a chorus of wildlife including many varieties of songbirds and one lucky evening watching howler monkeys playing in the trees nearby, but not too close! Pura vida. A beautiful vacation.

I booked a trip at this hotel and we had a major snow storm that canceled all flights for an entire week and they shut down all roads and major highways blocked off by state troopers. I called and told the hotel I would be late and they said we can’t check in late even though our hotel was fully paid for. Then I asked for a refund and they didn’t give us one. This was completely out of our control and I tried to work with them in every which way and they refused. I work hard for my money and they took it without having an understanding heart. I sent them all the proof and contacted them for two weeks and they kept declining to help me. My friend from states over go to go on the trip and she said the food was aweful, the property was dirty, old, and everything was broken and leaking and that they notified the hotel and they said they couldn’t help or accommodate. This place needs to be shut down if they feel they can take others money and not even keep up the place. Do not stay here. The photos my friends sent it looked like a dump. There are plenty of other options with others that have a heart and so you can actually get what you paid for.

Property is dated but getting a renovation. My complaints were the tub did not feel safe while showering because of design and the elevators were out a lot. They are renovating in July so hopefully these will no longer be issues. Great staff! Beautiful country! We had a lot of fun!!

Property was good - no issues. But the hotel staff gave us a group of 7 folks random rooms across several floors, was very very inconvenient. Walking between rooms took up most of our time at Riu. Not cool! We made reservations months ahead for double-beds, but still we had to negotiate to even get our selves basic rooms - ended up with one king bed and far off locations....not close to each other. Unacceptable !! When I quoted expedia guaranteed rooms and double-beds they suggested we talk to Expedia....not to them !!
