My 3 kids and I came for spring break. With working from home and my kids doing virtual learning, we needed to get away! We are new to WV and came from Martinsburg. What a beautiful drive! It was so nice to get to explore our new state! When we arrived we went to check in to the camp store and was greeted by the owner. She was very friendly and check in was smooth. I forgot a few things and was able to purchase them at the store. Very nicely stocked and even had a mini library for their guests to borrow books during their stay. Our cabin was clean, fresh linens and nice fluffy towels. The kitchen was well stocked and the appliances were clean and functioning. We weren't able to use the grill outside as it was rotted out at the bottom, but we used the fire pit instead. Our hot tub was clean and had a nice seating area inside. The playgrounds were in good shape as well as the basketball court. The volleyball net wasn't put up just yet but I think because it's opening season. The ducks onsite were too cute. They liked to walk around the campsite and had no problem coming right up to you. Lots of areas to go fishing. The mountain views are breathtaking! Since we came early in the season, it was still quiet. I would love to return during the summer months when it is busy and the rafts are available to rent for the river. Speaking of river, the water was so clear and peaceful to hear at night! As far as safety, I am a single mom and totally felt safe at night! "I am so jealous of your trip, it looks awesome there" is the reaction I got from my Instagram posts! Some have already booked their vacations here. Overall, a great experience! We can't wait to return!
