It’s not often that my expectations are exceeded. The Foxglove did just that! We arrived two days after Christmas and all of the holiday decor made our stay that much more “homey”. There were two Christmas trees all lit up, holiday throw pillows and blankets sitting around, colorful Christmas lights and even some tasty chocolates and cocoa waiting for us. They really thought of everything. The kitchenette had just enough to accommodate everything we needed. The bed was super comfortable and the heated tile and beautiful stone shower felt like luxury. We would definitely recommend this house to anyone coming to the area. In warmer weather, you could easily walk up to the historic downtown district as parking gets scarce the busier the season gets. We had no problem parking this time of year.
If you are a light sleeper, know that the street noise is pretty significant. They provide a noise machine and a fan in the bedroom to help with that, which was much appreciated.
One caveat if, like us, you are not familiar with the area. If you have the option, don’t drive a low-profile car. The streets are very steep. The driveway to the Foxglove is the steepest us “flat-landers” have ever seen. We barely made it in and out without bottoming out. Next time we’ll drive a taller vehicle. :)
