Hotel is in a good position for access to the city centre but the room was poor (108) carpets were rotting away in places, puddle in the bathroom from a leaking radiator curtains and window frames dirty and mouldy room furniture looked like it had been taken out of a skip. Music started around 02.00 from somewhere near and continued until 05.00. Bed and towels were clean and the staff were polite and friendly but wouldn't stay there again.
Beautiful old building for the pub/restaurant/foyer. Rooms themselves were in a 70s brick building that was extremely tired.
Having workmen drilling and hammering from 8am was also not ideal.
An amazing stay, although room was abit dated, need a lick of paint on the walls, besides that staff were amazing from checking in, to the food we had and service was second to none, we will definitely stay again.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
Overnight in Exeter. Very central location, with cheap parking
On arrival I opened the wardrobe door room 204 and doorknob came off in my hand. I reported it next morning along with plus hairdryer holder falling off the wall. 3 days later neither things had been rectified despite reminders to the staff and the doorknob has just been left hanging as it was before. On 5th night I went to have a shower and water started dripping from the centre spotlight in the shower making it unsafe to shower. I reported it to reception manager who said he would look into it. I said I wanted access to a room with a shower but by then I didn't have time to shower as was being collected to go to a retirement party. Manager Ollie said he'd pass on the details to the night porter snd gave me a key to room 3. I arrived back at the hotel later that evening to find that the night porter had not been informed. Ollie was still there and said he'd looked at the shower and the problem was condensation which it was definitely not as I'd only just turned the shower on when the water leaked down. I slept in room 204 showered in the new room next morning before going out to church at 9am. I packed my suitcase when I got back and left it at reception as it was too heavy and difficult to move it to room 3 up and down several winding stairs on other side of the hotel. 11pm that night I was woken by knock on my door which was quite disturbing in itself! It was staff member Louise saying they had no record of room 3 being checked in!!

Convenient for city. Room cold as radiator not working and made a noise all night. Comfy bed. TV didn’t work. Nice towels and beddibg
I had a really comfortable stay, no frills accomodation but very comfortable and a great shower. Special mention should go to the receptionist (Olie I think?) a fantastic warm and friendly welcome, he is a real credit to your establistment.
