Mark and Michelle were amazing hosts and very accommodating. We enjoyed our stay in their barndo with beautiful veiws in the day time as well as the stars at night. Beds and all of the furnishings were all very comfortable and cozy. Would highly recommend a stay at their property and will definitely be back to stay there again ourselves!

Cooking was enjoyable having a fully stocked kitchen. It was nice having filtered water from the tap. It wasn't very hard to observe water conservation which was obvious being in the desert. Although we didn't use the hot/cold tub ourselves it looked very inviting.

We hit a home run with this stay! Mark and Michelle were the most hospitable host and their place does not disappoint! In fact, we saw more wildlife on their property than at Big Bend. Deer, javelina, quail, fox and even some wild burros on the main road. If you want a quiet location with wildlife, book this one. I didn’t even mention the local cafe just 5 minutes away for breakfast, lunch or dinner and the star gazing was spectacular! This place really has it all!

House was very clean, hot tub water we couldn't get warm but we didn't ask for help. I really liked the house and hostess but felt it was a bit far from the national park. I didn't realize I was going have go down a dirt road to get to the house.

Mark and Michelle were awesome from start to finish of our trip! The barndo was very nice and comfortable with a great upper porch for coffee in the mornings and the lower part for sitting in the hot tub. We will be back!!!

If you’re looking for an off the beaten path getaway, this place is for you. It’s quite remote, but well worth the drive. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly, and they’ll show you everything you need to know when you check in. The place is clean and has good WiFi. The hot tub is exactly what you need after a long day hiking at Big Bend and the stars at night are beautiful. If you’re looking for a place to stay whilst going to Big Bend, this is the place for you.

The Chiles' barndominium made for the perfect basecamp for my family as we explored all of the must do's in the area. The host were friendly, welcoming. We saw mule deer from the privacy and javelina while soaking in the hot tub. Our stay at the Chiles' barndominium was nothing short of incredible. It served as the perfect basecamp for exploring everything the Big Bend area has to offer. The location gave us a true taste of the Texas Big – wide-open skies, rugged beauty, and a peaceful atmosphere that made it hard to leave.The hosts were warm, welcoming, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. One of the highlights was spotting mule deer right from the comfort of the property, and we even saw javelinas while relaxing in the hot tub – an unforgettable experience!Our stay at the Chiles' barndominium was nothing short of incredible. What a great place to kick back, watch the amazing stars, watch an abundance of wildlife, and an occasional black bear. The owners of this property were absolutely top notch with such hospitality. Mark and Michelle were very helpful and knowledgeable about the Big Bend area. It is a little bit of a drive, but trust me, it is well worth it! If you are wanting to experience a true night sky with zero light pollution, this truly is the spot to visit! You wont be disappointed! Thank you Mark & Michelle!

Stunning Desert Hideaway

The Barndominium offers picturesque scenery with close-up wildlife (deer) spotting, a comfortable, cozy ambience, and everything you need to get away, relax, and unwind. Mark and Michelle are gracious hosts and keep you in the loop with interesting sights to see and places to go. We had an excellent time!
