Peaceful
We spent the weekend of my wife's 50th birthday here. Her first wish when planning a trip was she wanted to go somewhere peaceful and serene. This property definitely made her wish come true. The house is actually nicer in person than the pictures portray. It had everything we needed and then some to be comfortable. It was extremely clean and well appointed. We were able to spend several very relaxing days here and would like to go back. The owner checked in on us and was very gracious. If your looking for a peaceful getaway, choose this property!!

Great weekend
Family stayed an extended weekend and it was sooo relaxing. It’s a little ways out from the nearest town, but that’s great for me. Quiet and peaceful… grilled steaks and just enjoyed our time together. Recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing retreat!

BEAUTIFUL GETAWAY
Just what we needed - a beautiful weekend. Cabin was beautiful and beautiful property. Very clean - and had everything we could possibly need. I wish it was closer to the lake - it was a steep walk down to the river - but beautiful.

Weekend with grandkids and family.
Property was very nice and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen could use some plastic wear especially bowls. The plates were good quality but too heavy for the kids. The grill was very greasy and dirty and I cleaned it before we attemped to use it. The storm doors didn't latch or shut completely and that was unsafe for our toddler. Also, the wooden french door onto the dining area had a loose handle. Upstairs the drain in bathtub did not drain properly. One of the cornhole game bags was damaged making it hard to keep score properly. We brought life jackets but since owners are providing the kayaks it would be nice to have some available as the nearest store was 20 plus minutes away. An information guide in the cabin telling about things in the area and some information regarding what was available for food, medical info. etc would have been nice. We relied on the internet for all of this info. All other places that we have stayed provided this info. We felt that for the amt. that we paid for the two nights there could have been more upgrades.

Great house for family
This was a great property for our short family vacation. There was enough room for our teenagers to have some space but was cozy and kept our family together for games and fun most of the time. We didn’t get to use the outdoor space as much as we’d hoped because it was very hot and humid but we did enjoy evenings on the porch. The walk to the lake access was steep but manageable- a bit tricky with the kayaks but nice to have that option!

A cozy cabin with great outdoor space
Our family had a wonderful time on this property. Cabin had everything we needed. The yard is large with lots of space for activities. One of the best fire pits, we used it every night. And so quiet. A great retreat. We did Mammoth Cave one day and rented a pontoon boat one day. Barren Lake is beautiful.

Wonderful weekend
We had a wonderful weekend at this lakehouse. We didn't stay long and didn't get to enjoy all the amenities, but we were happy with the room set up and kitchen. The lakehouse was clean, and I liked all the starter kitchen items and toiletries. Something happened during the previous guest's stay, and the owner was quick to relay that information and offer a fix. The owner was quick to respond to questions which was very helpful! We would definitely stay again!

Beautiful Cabin
This cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed and more. We stayed here with family and friends. We had 4 kids (ages 8-14) and our 2 dogs. They had so much fun around the yard and in the cabin playing games and exploring. We rented a boat for a day on the lake and had a great time at the firepit at night. We felt safe in the cabin with the security system in place. The cabin was also very cozy and clean. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Wonderful cabin in the woods!
We had an outstanding time at lake barren and our stay at the cabin was incredible. The photos don’t do justice for what the cabin really looks like. We will use this cabin again when we come back to lake barren. Very clean and has lots of amenities.

It’s a great cabin tucked away in the woods with all the comforts of home. The owners have thought of every detail from the great cookware for the grill to extra phone chargers in the nightstand. Really felt like we were staying in a friends home.

We loved our stay here! Perfect escape for peace. Very beautiful cabin to come relax in. My boys loved the big yard to play football also loved it was pet friendly. the fire pit was nice at night. We also enjoyed the kayaks,and the lovely front porch to hear all the nature sounds We hope to come back for another stay!

Great house!
The house was very clean and very well stocked with everything you could think of. Not the lake access I was expecting but my little one loved exploring when we weren’t out on a boat or at the state park on the beach. Very nice cabin!

We really enjoyed the stay in this beautiful cabin in the woods. It was clean and comfortable. It was stocked with just about everything we needed. We chose to stay here as a family instead of booking three hotel rooms in town for the same amount of money. It a much better atmosphere and a space where we could all be together comfortably. We loved the peace and quiet this home offered.

Great family trip in super clean modern cabin!
We loved our stay! It was SO clean and the perfect cabin for our family of six adults and two children. The security system also helped us feel very safe. Very roomy and enjoyed the porch and fire pit as well. I would recommend this rental to my family and friends. We would 100% stay again when visiting family in the area.

Girls Get Away
This was the perfect get away for friends. Beautiful cabin surround by woods. The kayak s that are provided were great to explore the lake during the day. Relaxing and visiting around the fire pit was the best. Everything we needed to have a good time was there. Would definitely go back again. Thanks to Dave for being a great host.

Lake House
The house was very clean, well provisioned, and well layed out. The internet/wifi was excellent. The property was well maintained and very picturesque. It is located in a rural farming community. The roads are narrow and the house is a good way from the small towns of the area. The walk to the lake is fairly long and steep in some areas. But the trail is well maintained. The only real issue we encountered was the furniture was very uncomfortable, but that can be subjective. Overall a nice getaway.

This home was so quiet and peaceful with a wonderful wrap around porch. The porch swing was my favorite! So clean and beautifully furnished ! Nice office that overlooks the back yard. Communications with the host were very helpful and prompt. Highly recommend!
