We had the most beautiful weather at La Molineta, the days were very sunny, and we relaxed and read books, of which there is a great supply at the house. The house in itself was very nice, but we were very early season, and we were not prepared for how cold it would be in the late afternoon and evening, and lighting the wood burner every evening in the sitting room was certainly a necessity rather than a nice to have. There were some at the house, but we needed to purchase four large sacks for our two week stay. The upstairs bedroom was also lovely, but cold, with as promised a wonderful view from the terrace off the bathroom. The electric blanket unfortunately did not work on our arrival, and was not replaced until the last few days of our holiday, there was also no additional heat in that room apart from a very weak heat from the air con unit. But Stephen purchased a new oil heater also in the last few days which made a big difference. We wanted to eat at home, we enjoy cooking, and the available produce in the area is extremely good. However, we had many problems with the hob, with gas blowouts occuring regularly. Several things were changed but they did not solve the problem, and in the end we did most of our cooking in the oven. The hob needs replacing.
The girls who came in to clean were fantastic and very thorough. The terrace was lovely with several sun loungers, an extremely private area catching all of the sunshine. In the late afternoon we moved up to the upstairs terrace for a last cup of tea in the sun. In the summer to sit outside and eat under the shaded area would be wonderful, where there were beautiful climbing plants and a nice BBQ. I think we just came a bit too early! It would be a delight in the summer months, the furnishings were good, the bed very comfy, especially after the new electric blanket had been received! Stephen was very nice, and very helpful, and we really appreciated him for trying to make our early stay at La Molineta a nice one.
