It’s almost at the very top of a hill in a development of cabins, but the separation from the others is good, and, in the main direction for the porch decks, it’s almost all nature. One can walk to some restaurants and shops and to a stop of the free trolley to Gatlinburg attractions (you do have to walk back up that hill). If you are driving, it’s about 20 minutes max to any attraction. In the fall season, someone comes by to blow away the leaves twice a week during the day, annoying but brief, and you’re likely to be out anyway. Other than that, the loudest sound is likely to be birdsong.
Aside from the location, the cabin is packed with amenities. We made use of the pool and ping-pong tables, the outdoor hot tub (which is shielded from the view of neighbors), the well-equipped open kitchen and dining table, and even, one night, one of the TVs (equipped with cable-TV channels and apps for your own streaming services). It’s also great just to sit on one of the two levels of porches to bathe in nature, even looking at stars at night. We never even used the indoor whirlpool hot tub. The WiFi is good and accommodated all our devices at once, but all of us also had direct mobile phone service from our different carriers while in the cabin. The heating and air conditioning work well and quickly.
The main floor of the cabin is very spacious, high, and light, with large windows, and is a great place to hang out. Each floor has a full bathroom.
Overall, we had a great time.
