The property was located in a nice tucked away area. It was about a 20-30 minute drive to Gettysburg and to the battlefield. There is a fire pit outside and it was a great time to spend there with family.
A few negatives that brought down our stay a bit. Some of the towels were dirty. When I say dirty, I mean it looks like they were used to clean up a mess on the floor and then put back into the food pantry which is where we found them. The counter tops and stove needed to be wiped down when we arrived, which we did right away. There were 5 keys in the kitchen, none of which were to the house. There was only one house key and it was connected to a 3 lb piece of wood, making it hard and inconvenient to bring along with us.
The owner was good about communicating, and I will say as a family of 20 we had a lot of questions (is there soap, garbage bags, etc). There were not trash bags, so its a good thing we did bring them. There were no filters for the coffee maker, which for 20 people is not great. Especially when the grocery store is at least 15 min away. There was some broken glass on the porch too, which we had to move because we had children with us.
Overall for me, its not easy to find a place for a family of our size to be together. This worked well for that and was about what we would have spent on hotels. If you want to stay here, you should expect more of an outdated church retreat style facility and you will be very happy.
