As this owner states in the description, this is not some ordinary cabin. You can tell a lot of care went into planning, building and furnishing it. The cabin is well maintained - very clean and cozy. In terms of size, I think it would be best for two people. The setting is lovely - peaceful and private. We arrived following some heavy rains, so the creek out back was running pretty fast.
The surrounding area is also lovely and definitely rural. We went on a few hikes and never saw any other hikers, though there were a few people on horseback.
We didn't venture out to eat much, but we did end up having dinner at Tug Hill Estates/Winery twice. The food was good, and the staff were welcoming.
I'd also recommend Miller's Meat Market, the butcher and general store in Lowville.
In short, I highly recommend this as a nice, relaxing place to get away. We would go again, and maybe have friends rent the cabin next door at the same time.
