A great visit to Hamilton! We enjoyed stay at The Hamilton House! The bedrooms were great with comfy beds and enough room for all of us. Thanks for offering such a wonderful home!!
Had a great time. This is a period home with a updated kitchen and upstairs bathroom. Very good communication with the host and lovely bed, linens and towels. The bottom bathroom has a very small door so if you have larger guests, they may not find it accommodating but once you get through the door, itâs very nice and updated. Would definitely recommend you staying here if you were in the area. Much preferable to staying at a hotel and we were able to spend lots of time together laughing and talking. Thank you very much for sharing your home with us.
Great placeBathroom was not the best but we made it workHost helped with a plumbing problem We would stay there again and we recommend this place to other quilting friends
We had the best time staying at the Hamilton House while visiting family. The kitchen was well stocked and the house was conveniently located in town. We will stay again!
We rented this house for a family gathering. We had 5 children and three adults. We played games at the spacious dinning room table. The host left a sweet note and homemade cookies! The host was also very accommodating and quick to respond to all messages. We will be back!!
We had a lovely stay and the owner was great to communicate with! The neighborhood is not as nice as the house is, but we had no issues and their front door locks automatically which is good. One of the reasons we booked this was because of the fenced in yard as we were having young family members over, the little play house is adorable, but what doesn't seem to be shown in the pictures, is 2 shed/garage type buildings that look questionable in their stability yet the doors are openâŠ.And it is not a restricted area and the fence goes behind them. But overall, it was great and we had a lovely visit.
A cosy historic, home away from home.
It was the perfect stay for three friends, all being able to have our own room.
The amenties were wonderful and the house is a perfect walking distance into town.
We would recommend staying at this property.
House and location was great.Loved the decor. Only down side was upstairs bathroom. Water pressure in upstairs sink was bad. Shower needs updates. DDownstairs bathroom was a fun surprise
This house was very very clean!
She was great with getting us in the earlier than the stated check-in time!
And even left us a Delicious treat! ( Pecan Pie MuffinsYum!!!)
That was such sweet little surprise.
This is an older home, so it has little creaks and embellishments brought back memories of days past..
The house is very clean, in a very nice neighborhood, close to shopping.. Beds were very comfortable. Was perfect for 2 night stay to check out Missouri Star Quilting. Lovely town and lots of fun for quilters.
Great little town with several options for your stay. The homes are all older, so little things stand out - like the super nice towels at this place. Also, owner communication was great.
We have a group of 6 women, all are quilters, from Michigan. Jennifer, our host, left us homemade apple coffee cake muffins, that were to die for! She was kind enough to share this delicious recipe with us. Our stay at the Hamilton House was delightful. The dining room table was large enough for us to comfortably sit around and enjoy our meals. The furniture in the living room was comfortable and a nice area to gather in the evening, the beds were also comfortable. My only complaint is the shower, water was all over the floor after one of the ladies took a shower. I figured out that the shower head was too close to the wall which caused water to collect on the ledge and spill over onto the floor. I secured the shower curtain to the ledge by placing the shampoo bottle on it which took care of the problem, Perhaps you should consider a shower head that projects further away from the wall. Other than that, it was a great location to the quilt shops in Hamilton.
Overall, we enjoyed the stay, but this is an old property and it shows. The main complaints we had were:
1. The upstairs bathroom (the only one with a shower) does not lock. This is due to the door being wildly out of square.
2. The bedroom my wife and I stayed in did not latch and had no door handle. The only way to close from outside the room was with a rope. This gave no privacy, especially with a young toddler running around.
3. The read patio (where trash is supposed to be placed) has terrible odors. My sister-in-law almost threw up when she was exploring the house the first time.
4. The downstairs bathroom door is incredibly narrow. This is a former closet turned into a bathroom, but all of the adults in our group (who are not overweight) had to turn sideways to get into the bathroom.
5. The floor in the dining room is a trip hazard. It is the most bowed floor I've ever seen (appears original). The slope is so sever that several of us tripped on it.
I don't see how we could come back to this house again.
Charming house with quilt themed decorations. Generous amount of towels and bath supplies. Comfortable beds and within walking distance of downtown quilt shops.
Thank you Jennifer
We had 7 women who stayed here comfortably. We did move furniture around to set up two cutting stations, 2 pressing stations, and seven machines. The house has a lot of charm. Our favorites were the love letters display from WW 2, the yellow swing, and the Harry Potter mini doored bathroom. The older women were so happy to have a bathroom on the main floor. The floors were a bit slick so we had to be barefoot or shoes at all times. We had a few minor concerns but the host responded quickly. The location is perfect for MO star or other small towns like Jamesport. Several ladies walked to and from the quilt stores. We were there during a heatwave, but the air conditioners kept up. We would stay here again.
My sisters and I met at the Hamilton House for a few days of quilting and shopping. The house has a dining room table big enough for 3 sewing machines. The Missouri Star Quilt Company stores are just a short walk away. We were pleased to learn that the daily deals are available in one of the stores. The Quilt museum is also a short walk away. It has many beautiful, amazing quilts to see as well as old sewing machines, thimbles, and lots of stories to go with them.
The Hamilton House is an older home that has been beautifully restored. It was very clean, and the listing described it perfectly. It was the perfect setting to gather with extended family for a fun weekend trip to MSQC. I would definitely stay here again! :)
