Overall, we enjoyed our stay. We were able to cook meals in the kitchen, enjoy both fireplaces, and take a dip in the hot tub. It is a cute, property that has been updated. The estate is beautiful.
We did have some trouble getting in. We were told the key would be left under the porch mat. We arrived after dark, there were no lights on, and the key was no located under any of the mats. After about 10 minutes of fumbling in the dark, we tried the door and it was unlocked at both entrances. Based on the location, it would be tough for someone to enter without notice of the property owners, but it does not make you feel comfortable arriving to a dark, unlocked cabin. There were also a lot of people coming an going constantly on the property... cars, trucks, golf carts, 4 wheeler. The listing makes you think this is secluded, and while it is on a private estate, the cabin is directly behind a main house with people constantly coming and going. The last thing I will add is that the day before we arrived, we received an extremely long list of house rules. While you should be able to have any rules you want for your own property, renters deserve to know your expectations up front. It should have been posted in the listing. Some of these rules may have deterred us from staying at this property.
