Short stay

Brilliant independent - highly recommend

Great place in a beautiful location. A proper English pub with good beers and great food. Great atmosphere in winter with large roaring log fires

Enjoyable stay, lovely staff. Room was cold, ended up sitting in bed during the afternoon to keep warm as the central heating wasn't on and had to be in bed before it went off at night. Lovely big towels. Food was great. Would definitely return

What a find, from the moment we walked in we found the staff friendly and helpful. we were shown to our room which was very clean and comfortable. we had a superb dinner in their popular pub/ restaurant. we then started our day with a great breakfast. if we get the chance we will return.

Great place.

Stopped here as it was about half way between London and Edinburgh. Warm, welcoming staff, great food, and comfy bed. Stopped by Stump Cross Caverns before continuing north.

Perfect overnight stay en route home. Room was wonderful and clean. We booked a table for evening meal - fantastic choice and very good. Breakfast was also very good, lovely to have an option of full English or smoked salmon or eggs Benedict etc. Very happy - will definitely return again.

We had an excellent stay in this hotel and the food was amazing.The only think which was disappointing was the bed as it was an old iron bed which was so squeaky every time you moved it made a loud noise so I didn’t sleep very well.
