Our hostess was wonderful. Weâd had a full day and were ready to relax. I loved this stay for some very personal reasons. Most people might not understand. My home is 120 years old, with uneven floors, character galore, at every turnâŠand the friendly creaks of doors and floors are like whispers of old souls/clouds of witnesses watching over our days and nights like a comfortable wink of peaceful encouragement from another time. This place was like âhomeâ for my wife, dog, and I. We slept very well and we wished we could have stayed longer. It reminded me of staying in my grandmothers Victorian home, as a little boy. The only thing missing, was the âtick -tockâ of her old kitchen clock. The decor was elegant and thoughtful, with a nod to relaxation. It gave me the calm you get, after a tough day, when you take your boots off, put up your feet, and wiggle your toes. This property is meticulously maintained and has modern amenities, without losing a smidgeon of character. Oh my goodness Monique. Your VRBO won our hearts. I am not young, and I had my second hip replacement in August, but I took my time on the steps, and I was not threatened by them at all. They have anti-slip strips on them. The railings are strong and those beautiful worn steps are a wonder to me. I engaged them, thinking about the many feet which trod on themâŠwho were they? What did they do? I want to encourage people to be a part of the experience. Fully take it in. Thanks Monique. Well done!
