We loved Bark Point Perch.
The cabin is quiet and secluded with a pretty view of the lake and a yard perfect for a game of fetch with pup. Night skies are dark and the wraparound porch a great place to stargaze. As dining options up here are limited and we like to cook, we were delighted to learn host Erin would stock the fridge with local produce, eggs, and meat with 0 of the sale going to the farmers. With what we brought from home and a trip to Halvorson's for fish, we happily cooked in the cabin's well-appointed kitchen.
Between hikes and beach-wandering we enjoyed trips to Ehler's for freshly picked blueberries. We had fish fry at The Cranberry one evening and it was great. Even went to the tiny, cool record store in an old bank vault in Washburn one rainy morning.
Of course the real beauty of the Port Wing/Herbster/Corny area are it's beaches, it's sloughs and rivers, it's waterfalls and boreal forests. It's beautiful and quiet. I hope it will stay that way and I look forward to a return.
