All in all me and my wife were very pleased with our stay. The only downside was the cleanliness. When we arrived there were bugs throughout the house (mosquitos and moths), as well as bug guts on the walls and ceiling, not to mention a steady stream of new bugs throughout the week. Even with all windows and doors closed all day (during rain, for example), bugs still found a way in. Not a big deal, it's an older property and to be expected.
The star of the show is the dock and the little cabin. The cabin faces ENE; nearly directly east; which means you get beautiful sunrises over the trees. The lake is clean and calm, and there was minimal boat traffic during our stay. There is lots of wildlife, but the water depth at the dock was only chest height. Great for kayaks/canoes, and a long snooze in a floating chair, but not good for swimming. The neighbouring dock is too close in our opinion, but we lucked out with a weeklong stay only have neighbours for 1 night.
The property itself is well kept. We did not use the 'man-cave' as it smelt musty and with only 2 of us, we didn't see the value of airing it out.
I can't give 4.5 stars, so I'm rounding up!
