Dear Customer Services:
This is Bin Sun and I booked Hilton Head Island vacation through Vrbo and stayed at Beachwalk #177 from 5/26-5/30. I need to complain the potential health problems due to the insect bites happened in this vacation home.
1. Insect bites: We have 4 people in the group and 3 out of 4 guests got insect bites every night. These bites were happened during midnight on the beds. They are small red and very itchy bumps all over our body (20 to 30 bites on each of us), back, thigh, arm pit, chest, legs and foot……We even washed and cleaned all the linens, used insects off spring on our bed sheet, and still cannot not prevent further biting at the nights. These extremely itchy bites bother us all the trip, we did not sleep well for four days stay. and we had to buy Cortisone cream to stop the itchy, and some bites already showing the infection signs. These basically ruined our dream holiday at Hilton Head Island. Attached please find the bites pictures from three girls stayed in the unit #177.
2. Roaches in the unit: Caught a roach in master bathroom, photo attached
3. Owner response not acceptable: We did contact the owner through the instruction binder in the unit, unfortunately it only goes to the owner, not the iTrip service team. The owner responded with “no bedbugs in rooms (checked)”, “clean linen will be next day”, and “stay or leave”. He even hung up our phone calls. This could be some other insects such as flea, if not bed bugs……With these annoying bites happened on site we cannot just book a hotel on the same day in memorial Day weekend, then we have to stay even we know the insect bites will be continuing.
4. Room service is not ideal: wifi internet only worked for 2 days. The code for the door is not valid on early morning 5/30/2022. Two girls went out to see the sunrise on shipyard beach and cannot get back in room……Won’t the code should expire after 10:00 am on 5/30/2022?
5. The owner should do pest control every month. The last pest control was 4/1/2022 for this unit. The pest control log is attached.
We are very sorry to stay in this Beachwalk “luxury condo” although it looks very clean and luxury. With insect biting every day, roaches, wifi cut off and the early door code expiration, we wouldn’t recommend to anyone in future.
We will continue our complaint until we solve this issue. We may file complaint everywhere if possible. We demand refund on this property stay. We also suggest “No pets” policy
