Not going to lie, felt a little catfished here. The photos online were beautifully staged and looked like a very charming house but he fact that pictures of the exterior didn’t quite match the quality of the interior was already a red flag for me.
Starting with the positives: location was perfect, close to the beach, quaint neighborhood, porch is great. House was clean. Plenty of linens and towels for our week long stay, and washer/dryer was a great help.
The house is pretty warn down, a couple updates had been made, in regards to the downstairs bathroom – was great to have an extra shower. Other than that, the house was really warn. Half the lights worked (broken table lamps), the other half had cheap fluorescent bulbs, doors knobs falling off, no cleaning supplies, one trash can in the whole house, one bedroom had a curtain for a door.
These may sound like petty complaints, but when your paying decent money for accommodations you’re expecting the place to look like it’s advertised and have the same level of amenities.
We had a wonderful trip overall, this house has tons of potential but I’m too old to be vacationing in an old college house.
Would travel back to Holland in a second.
