This is a truly unique apartment. It has many grand features from the 19th century, well-balanced with contemporary style and an astonishing original gilded ceiling. If you'll enjoy being in the midst of vibrant night-life yet close to daytime cultural highlights it's a great choice. Shared roof terrace access.
Our apartment is on the on the first floor - one flight of stairs - of a 19th century building overlooking a busy little street with a baker shop, bars, cafes, restaurants and night clubs. The famous Istiklal Avenue is 1 minute walk away and Taksim Metro is a 10 minute walk. The picturesque vintage tram stops very near the top of the street.
This apartment is great if you wish to have a memorable, authentic experience of Istanbul based in the very centre of everything and with a lively and unique party atmosphere at the doorstep.
The surrounding streets are noisy at night. We've installed sound-proofing window shutters in the bedroom, but music from the street and nearby nightclubs still comes into the apartment. This apartment is therefore most suitable if you'll fully embrace the spirit of the surrounding night-life.
The double bedroom is stylish, with a chic velvet headboard, high quality crisp white linens, frescoes and gilded cornicing. The living-dining room is comfortable, with a feather-filled sofa and armchair around the fireplace plus an antique dining table with designer chairs. The contemporary shower-room, with rain-shower, and galley kitchen balance the ornate character of an original marble fireplace and amazing carved and gilded ceiling.
The apartment is 50m2 in total and well laid-out, with very large windows, amazing high ceilings and frescoes. The exposed floorboards are all original and the huge panelled double-doors are the original dark oak. The bedroom comfortably accommodates two people.
TimeOut Istanbul says "If you have just one night to spend in Istanbul, spend it on Nevizade Sokak". From this apartment you can spend as many as you like: you'll be just 50m from Nevizade Sokak.
Guests will have the complete privacy of the entire apartment.
Four floors up there's a shared roof terrace with views over other intriguing buildings in the neighborhood. This is available for your careful use at any time.
This is a small Turkish-British family project. Julia and Tarkan used to live in Istanbul then Singapore and are now balancing life between England and Istanbul. If we're in Istanbul during your stay we'd love to meet you.
Your questions and booking will be handled by us wherever we are. When you arrive in Istanbul Tarkan's wonderful family and/or our friendly team will welcome you to your apartment, give you the keys and explain about practicalities and the neighbourhoods.
We'll all help you as much as you need and we're only a phone call or email away.
Istiklal Avenue is the elegant pedestrian street at the core of Beyoglu. It's 1.4 kilometers long and thronged with people for much of the day. It's lined with boutiques, music shops, bookstores, art galleries, cinemas, theatres, libraries, cafés, pubs, night clubs, historical patisseries, chocolateries and restaurants.
This apartment is 1 minute walk down a side-street from Istiklal. It's very near Nevizade Sokak, which is famous worldwide for its meyhane restaurants and lively street scene at night. There are late night food vendors and nightclubs very nearby.
10 minutes walk up Istiklal you'll find Taksim Metro, the transport hub of the whole city. Bus, tram and ferry stops are also close. You can be in Sultanahmet (for the big sights of Ayasofya, Topkapı, Blue Mosque etc.) in about 20 minutes by public transport or 35 minutes on foot. In the other direction, by Metro, you can be in Şişli (for Istanbul's biggest shopping mall) in 15 minutes or Levent (for Istanbul's business district) in 20 minutes.
Taxis are also easy to find.
Will your stay with us make a difference? We hope so…

We use local maintenance and cleaning services for the apartments and in this way we provide a good income for 2 families who lives nearby.
We do everything we can to preserve all the original features and materials in the apartments. Where new materials are needed we source them locally, prioritising products that are designed and/or made in Turkey.
Our apartments are uniquely situated amongst mosques, churches, synagogues, a mevlevi 'whirling dervish' hall and other sites of religious significance. We encourage guests to sense the history of religious tolerance and hopefully! to experience something of it themselves during their stay.
