My sister and her family came down from Cleveland Ohio to Norris Lake for a vacation with my husband and I. (We live here by the way and didn't 'have' to rent a home). Pictures listed are nice, yes. Such a lure to get renters.
When I arrived at the home I was so upset because (1) the neighborhood is so undesirable (2) I pulled up and nothing looked welcoming...at all. Like no one put any effort into welcoming a family who spent MONEY to stay there.
The outside fire pit area was in disarray, the chairs were all fallen over, there was stuff in the fire pit, the porch had everything covered and nothing outside was clean. THEN I walked down to the boat dock. I'm an in-shape person and walking down the treacherous gravel to the lake was a challenge even for me. Thank gosh I didn't have on flip-flops. I'd have never made it. I can't believe the homeowner doesn't do something about that hateful gravel walk down. (Not to mention the walk "UP" from the boat dock...which sucked).
As it turned out, my husband and nephews would go down to the boat every morning and take it over to Twin Cove to meet me and my sister's family because of that ridiculous gravel hike down to the lake.
The bedding looked unfresh and old. No thought is put into making a family who again, spent money to stay there, welcomed. My husband and I didn't even stay there, we drove 25 minutes home every night.
I wanted my family to feel special and on top of the world, and this trip was not that at all.
