Overall Enjoyable Stay (With Room for Improvement)
Overall, our stay was good. As noted in the Guidebook, we had requested an early check-in, but there was a lack of communication on this. I had to call VRBO to get an update. Upon arrival, we noticed several maintenance issues that needed documentation (e.g., the game room basketball hoop was barely hanging on, there were holes behind doors, etc.), which we promptly documented and sent via email. The cleanliness of the house was generally good. However, the hot tub wasn’t clean from the start—it had a lot of dirt in it. It was only usable for two of the three nights; on the third day, we found it had turned green. I reached out to the property manager and was asked to send photos, which we did, but never received a response. Additionally, the indoor water park was closed during the week, so the kids were disappointed that the hot tub wasn’t functioning. We also noticed someone came to clean the hot tub on two of the three days, but we would have appreciated a heads-up as our kids were outside playing. With four adults and four kids, we will likely look for a larger property with all amenities fully operational for our next stay.
