The Riverfront home provided a nice remote stay between Lake Placid (30+ minutes) and Ausable Chasm. The location directly on the river was peaceful. The house is a nice design with an open concept of dining/livingroom area...albeit the space could use better lighting. The kitchen is adequate with big new refrigerator and Keurig. Oven door handle is broken, and the door won’t stay open… potentially dangerous. Sunroom is very pretty and inviting. King bedroom & downstairs bathroom are also okay, adequate. The open spiral staircase leads to an area of two newly renovated bedrooms and bathroom, all very nice. Take note, there are shades on most windows in the house but not the queen bedroom. We taped trash bags to one window as the bed is directly next to it… 5:30 is way too early to wake up on vacation! There were no paper towels as advertised (well, 2 sheets). No tissues. TP, was, shall we say, not like home-- The house was generally clean although we did have an issue with ants coming from crumbs under the sofa cushions. Once we vacuumed the sofa and sprayed with provided Raid, the ant problem dissipated. Dan was attentive but couldn’t really help from afar. He promised to speak with his cleaner for future. We managed and all was okay. I would recommend this property. It worked well for 2 couples; we didn’t use the 2nd upstairs bedroom (queen over queen bunk). There would be room for more people/kids, just note you would be sharing the jack & jill bathroom.
