I’ve been to Israel many times, but this time I went on my own and not with a tour group. Finding housing was a concern, as well as parking since I planned to rent a vehicle to travel around in. While there, I stayed in two different locations, and found this location to be a much better place to stay. First, although it was a little harder to find and drive to, after a time or two it was easy if you follow the directions that the owner will send you (it’s not accurate on Google Maps). Second, parking was so much easier. Parking was behind a locked gate and there was no concern for safety. Parking in Jerusalem was a big problem, difficult to find, and always a concern with my rental car being scratched or damaged by someone else while unattended. Streets are very narrow, and people park very close to each other. Another concern with a rental car, was being told not to drive it in the Palestinian controlled part of the West Bank. If you follow the directions given by the owner, although you go through a check point, you can park at this location without a problem. Finally, the owners, speak English very well, (they lived in the US for a while). They are extremely helpful, and willing to make your stay comfortable and pleasant. Next time I go back to Jerusalem, this will be where I’m planning on staying. Although it took an extra 10-15 minutes more from my first location to drive into Jerusalem, it was worth every minute.
