Set on the shores of the beautiful Bassenthwaite Lake in the Lake District National Park, this small tranquil park, nestled at the foot of the dramatic Skiddaw mountain range, is the perfect relaxing getaway. Enjoy the amazing lake and mountain views, the peaceful surroundings and the extensive birdlife from our homely and cosy lodge.

This spacious lodge offers guests a variety of home comforts, so expect to find comfy beds, modern bathrooms, a cosy fire, a really well-equipped kitchen with a wide range of kitchen equipment and basic larder items, a washer-dryer and dishwasher.

Bird seed is provided so you can enjoy the birdlife; blankets are too, so you can keep warm on a chilly evening while you star gaze from the deck. There are games, DVDS and an X-Box with a variety of games for those rainy evenings in the lodge.

Guests are welcome to bring kayaks, paddle boards and non-motorised boats to explore the clear lake waters or alternatively you can stick to a swim or paddle!

There are endless walks to enjoy in the area, ranging from flatter walks round the lake and through the woods to long days out high up on the fells, many of which are easily accessible from the lodge. There are maps and walking books to help you plan your day out.

There are a great variety of eating and drinking options in the local area, with a lovely old pub in Bassenthwaite serving good food and restaurant bistro at the Manor House, both close to the lodge.

Lovely lakeside lodge

A fantastic week in the ideal place- well-equipped, homely and in a superb position. The sun shone daily and we enjoyed using the lodge as the perfect base for walks and water activities. Thank you!

Amazing views with cosy vibes

The place had an unforgettable view from the living area and was well-equipped. There are plenty of guides about the local area which is helpful to plan your days. The host was very responsive, warm, and willing to adjust to our schedules. We would be glad to visit again.

We were disapointed with lodge patio door was boarded up with glass broken made it very dark. Blinds were awful. Gas fire hard to turn off & gets very hot to turn off

Great stay over xmas

We loved the lodge. It felt very homely. The park is right at the lake shore. The kitchen was equipped very well. Beds were comfortable and shower powerful. A bonus was the TV with netflix and other apps and good internet connection. We would be back when the weather is warmer.

Great value for money

Spent a week there with family and dogs. Very clean and everything you could need The views are beautiful. One thing to note, if you take a dog make sure you have long leads and a torch, as nowhere enclosed to let them off before bed or first thing. Both bathrooms are en-suite as well as opening to the corridor which was a peek we didn’t expect. The perfect place for a relaxing family trip and highly recommend.

Lakeside paradise

Firstly i would like to mention the hosts, there was a small issue with the lodge due to the recent storms and Alison took the trouble to call me and explain and even processed a partial refund as compensation as a gesture of goodwill. In no way did this affect our stay, it is clear to see that the lodge is used by a family and loved! Fantastically equipped with high quality fixtures and furniture and kept spotlessly clean too. The lodge boasts an amazing bathroom with a corner jacuzzi bath that my wife and son spent half of the break in :). The site is spotlessly clean but a little remote so ensure you stock up on essentials before you get there but provided you have these you would not need to leave. Good wifi on site and a great location for exploring locally. In summary i would highly recommend the lodge and we will definitely be returning! Thank you guys!

Excellent lodge - stunning location

We have had a lovely stay at the lodge, one of the most well equipped we have been to. It is great for the dog and secure decking spaces front and back. Just be mindful you will need to let the dog out on a lead at the side of the property as there is no garden as such but it’s not a problem. There is a large field on site that you can take the dog on too. Stunning location and views from every window and the decking. There are some lovely walks on the site and bigger walks nearby. We ventured into Keswick for the markets and stocked up at the supermarket there. Even the weather held up for us! We will definitely keep this on the list of ones to come back to.

Beautiful location over looking the lake, cosy and comfy on autumn days. Plenty of dog walks from the property or within a short drive. Scenic walks to local pubs. Would definitely recommend and visit again

What an amazing stay!!!

From start to finish, this lodge provided us with everything we needed and more! The communication from the hosts was first class and the accommodation matched exactly as described. The location was perfect for me and my family and meant that we could get out onto the lake whenever we wanted. The lodge was so well equipped and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this place although it might be to my disadvantage as I don't want anyone else to book it when I want to return!!!!

Our stay was wonderful! The lodge was comfortable and well equipped. It had a clear view of the lake and surrounding mountains. It was truly beautiful and we loved it! We swam and paddle boarded in the lake, as well as walked up Catsbells. Keswick is close by with plenty of cafes, restaurants and quirky shops. Wonderful stay.

Great place and location

Really nice accommodation in a very nice location. Well presented and clean lodge with great view of the Lake. Brilliant welcome pack very informative and welcome advice on walks and where to go. Enjoyed the area 15 min drive to Keswick, I found that the turn off from the road to the site is a short distance from the signage and recommend hiiting your indicator as soon as you have passed the sign and start slowing as you often have cars travelling at speed behind you. Overall a great place to stay.

Lovely lodge, very clean & in a fabulous position with views of the Lake. The Lodge had everything you need, with comfortable beds & furniture, a very well stocked kitchen, a beautiful decking area with a variety of bird life visiting the feeders. Top notch property in an even more top notch location

Week away at this superb lodge. Excellent views and fantastic getaway location. Not too far from lovely scenic walks but far enough to feel away from it all Lodge had everything we needed and more. It was just a shame we didn't get chance to make use of the barbecue Bassenthwaite Lake Station a must do, the breakfast on the static train carriage is amazing. Buttermere lake very special place

A good weekend by the lake

The location was brilliant. The property was well equipped, clean and comfortable. However, the external areas were in dire need of cleansing and maintenance. (Getting rid of the bird feeders would help in this matter !!)
