My wife and I, 3 of my siblings and their spouses, stayed 10 days in April. Age range is 59-73. We love traveling together, especially evenings where one couple cooks a meal for all, and afterwards we play cards, Mexican Train, and enjoy wide ranging conversations. This house was nearly perfect for that.
Positives: our host, Diane, was wonderful and very responsive when a couple of minor issues came up. She had great tips on when/where to go on the island. The house itself was very roomy. The kitchen was extremely well stocked making meal prep a breeze. We really enjoyed the second story balcony and nice view of the ocean as well as the pool. It’s a short 6-7 minute drive to a great beach next to the Grand Wailea along with the Shops at Wailea.
Negatives: they were few but they were there. First, the house is advertised as a 4 BR that sleeps 12, but the two tables (dining room and balcony) each seat 6. Since there were 8 of us, we had to add a couple more chairs and crowd around either table at mealtime. Additionally, the dining room chairs were old and extremely uncomfortable for old butts like ours who like to sit and visit, play cards, etc, after dinner. The bedrooms were all good size, but two did not have any useable closet space. Beach equipment was provided, but only 4 chairs and one umbrella for 8 guests (or 12 as advertised). Lastly, we would have used the pool more if the main living area was not on the second floor.
Bottom line: had a wonderful time here!
