Laharum Grove offers a unique and remote experience on a large working olive grove. The 300 acre property shares a 2.5km border with the Grampians National Park and backs onto the stunning western escarpment of the Mt. Difficult Range. The farm house includes 4 bedrooms, 2 living spaces and 2 bathrooms. A breezeway connects the living spaces to the sleeping spaces. Some of the best walks in The Grampians are a short drive away (Mt. Zero, Mt. Stapylton, Hollow Mt., Zummsteins, McKenzie Falls).
The space
Laharum Grove makes up the southern 300 acres of a 1,500-acre olive grove which was planted in 1943. The property is a working farm managed by the Grampians Olive Oil Company who run a farm shop for tastings and sales, as well as serving barista made espresso coffee (they also roast and sell their own beans). Tours of the olive oil processing facility can be organised directly with the Grampians Olive Oil Company.

The farmhouse is made up of three interconnected buildings. The first is the old Laharum church (circa 1930) which provides an atmospheric ‘great room’ with kitchen, dining and living space. An anteroom off the church has a mudroom with a washing machine and a cosy bedchamber with a queen bed. The church is connected to a second living space which is an ideal playroom for children with a daybed and mounted television. There is a full bathroom adjacent to the playroom. A breezeway connects the living spaces with a bedroom wing that includes two doubles, a twin and a shared bathroom. The largest of the three bedrooms has a small deck leading to an outdoor shower.

A large well-maintained garden with walking paths surrounds the farmhouse and includes many natives as well as exotic plant varietals. A north-facing courtyard accessed from the church includes a pizza oven and outdoor barbeque. There is also a large deck on the southern side of the church.

The property is close to a variety of great walks suitable for different ages and abilities (Mount Zero, Mount Stapylton, Hollow Mountain, Beehive Falls). Zummsteins, McKenzie Falls and Lake Wartook are a short drive away. Beginners can try their hand at rock climbing with an experienced guide (Hangin’ Out in the Grampians). Excellent horse riding is close by at Grampians Horse Riding Centre.

The famous rock art sites of Billimina and Manja Shelter are 30-40 minutes drive away.

Locally, the Wartook Inn provides a good option for lunch or dinner (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
