A reassigned property due to construction delays at the original property. Good communication with owner before hand. Large 4 bedroom with plenty of room inside. Hot tub always a plus. A short 5 minute drive to downtown. Not walkable to downtown. Beautiful early cool summer time in the Rockies. Needed the electric fireplaces in the mornings to knock off the chill. Area and Turquoise lake is beautiful. If we are ever up that way would consider staying again.
Pros: Great location, walkable to downtown Leadville and close drive to many lakes and hikes. Hot tub was clean and hot (104), perfect after hiking. Spacious areas and full kitchen. Comfortable linens and pillows. Nice outdoor space. TV was easy to use. Cons: Leadville was uncommonly warm during our trip, and the house held the heat so it was hot at night (no fans upstairs and unfortunately very little breeze). In the guest room, one of the blinds didnât lift and the lamp didnât fully work. The towels smelled a little funky. The claw foot tub shower felt cramped because the curtains close in and tend to touch; temperature was also a little finicky. We had to search for more toilet paper (it wasnât in the bathroom), and couldnât find laundry detergent. Had to do a lot for check out even though there is a cleaning fee.
Pulling into the property, the initial impression set the tone for the rest of the house. There was a broken 5â mirror and frame along with a busted up end table cluttering up the side of the driveway. The sidewalk up to the house had a 4â section that only had a 10-12â flat space in the ice that had shed off the roof. One of our kids about bit it walking up. The house itself was pretty filthyâŠour boys are âboysâ and not much bothers them but they wouldnât even walk around barefoot because of the grime. The tub/shower is a clawfoot tub and an old and grimy shower curtain. It was gross to say the least. EVERYTIME you would turn in the shower it would stick to youâŠand the thought of all the other people who took a shower prior too made it unbearable. It canât possibly get cleaned properly and based on the rest of the house itâs doubtful. The hot tub was filthy, the fence next to the hot tub had no less than 30 clumps of hair that prior users just flung out of the tub and against the fence. The Ring camera placed over the hot tub also did not give a sense of privacyâŠwho knows how many other cameras on the property we couldnât see. I will say that we are a pretty easy going non-germaphobe family but this place was just plain gross. This being our first VRBO experience, it might be our last.
Adequate but needs major upgrades trash under beds dog hair sheets with holes in them
The check-in process between Vrbo and the property manager to pay a remainder of payment due was a nightmare. Thankfully property manager helpful. This is an old house that needs upgrades. Needs new towels. Old bleach stained ones. Needs kitchen towels and dish cloths in kitchen. Needs broom to assist with cleaning. Garbage found under beds. Shower tub high risk for fall holes in sheets as if mouse may have chewed hot tub water needed to be changed Good location close to downtown beds master comfortable light master bedroom needs replacing hanging by thread good location for skiing
Nice property with all of the necessities of a rental property. Beds were comfy and the bunk bed was great for the kids. Close to Ski Cooper and walking distance to stores and restaurants in Leadville. Great location. Really liked the separate towels for the hot tub. We had everything we needed!
The house is great for a couple wanting to be close in town and not far from skiing. The hot tub was great to come home to at the end of a long day skiing. Itâs clean and quiet and has everything you need for your stay.
Overall great experience! House was clean and had all of the basics you need. Host was very responsive and they provide a great stay guide with lots of info. Hot tub was wonderful!! It was mentioned in the listing, but a remember to bring your own coffee just in case,
We had a great time in Leadville, which is full of pleasant surprises and has something for everyone. This house was in a great location, as mentioned in other reviews, walking distance from town as well as the Mineral Trail. I would recommend fully reading the details of the home, even as a thorough details kinda gal., there were some things I missed and didnât pick up on until we were there. The house was clean and well stocked with the things we needed. The dishes and kitchen wares were all in great shape which can be uncommon in vacation rentals. The sleeping arrangements were very comfortable and I appreciated having space to unpack a bit. Part of the charm of this home is its age. With that comes
No complaints! This is a nice older home in a quiet spot in town right next to essentials and walking distance to parks and downtown. And the jacuzzi is a major bonus! Highly recommend.
In my opinion this property gets the job done but isn't nice enough for the cost. It's been painted and had a little decor added to make it appear nice but nothing has been updated. Kitchen is old, bathroom is old. Old claw foot tub that you have to use as a shower, that is also difficult to get in and out of. The two things that really told me that this is someone that doesn't care about their guest and is just trying to make some extra money are: First, the towels are terrible. They are tiny and rough. A new set could be purchased off Amazon for $20 - $30. Lastly and most importantly the shower curtain rings are full of mold. GROSS! There is no ventilation in the bathroom so makes you wonder how much more mold there is. At least spend $6 for new curtain rings to pretend like you're making an effort.
Visiting family for a few days. House was perfect. Easy to find, convenient location. Hot tub was mint! We were late checking out due to a scheduling mistake on our part. Owners were patient and kind.
The house was clean, the couches were comfortable and the bedrooms were nice. I needed to look carefully at the pictures to realize the bathroom shower was shown. The curtain covered the fact that it was an old deep bathtub and the shower head was for a giant. It was difficult to get into and out. There was a brief statement that the bedroom and bathroom were up stairs ( no picture of the stairs). The kitchen was good with all the necessary utensils. However, I didnât know what kind of coffee maker so I didnât bring any coffee. Coffee filters were there but no coffee. I would have brought pods or coffee if I knew ahead of time. Every other rental we stayed at had coffee available. We were only there for two nights and didnât want to spend time going to the grocery store.
The hot tub was great. Clean and easy to use. They need a mat by the door instead of dripping onto the floor.
The company was easy to reach and responses were quick.
This place was perfect. Views of Elbert and Massive from outside the house call you to the mountains. The house is walkable to Safeway for groceries and downtown to ship or go out to eat. House has vibes of old school miner cabin which we loved. Hot tub was an added bonus!
We just loved this house in a nice neighborhood just down the road from downtown. We highly enjoyed the hot tub and the beautiful light that comes in the kitchen windows in the morning. The vents in the floor of the bedrooms are a bummer if anyone's trying to sleep in, but we found that laying pillows over those vents does a good job of blocking the noise. We definitely plan to stay here again!
Love the hot tub, but really wished theyâd figure something else out for the tub upstairs. Shower curtain clings to you no matter what you do. Otherwise we have no other issues.
Overall, we had a great stay. The hot tub was nice and the location was great. However, first impression... we got to the house and the door was wide open and a garden hose thrown in the entry way was leaking water. Next, the house smelled like dead mouse so bad! But all of that aside, the most disturbing and misleading fact about the house is that it's shared. The house has been fabricated so that someone can live
in the dwelling. So, there is someone else living in the house that has a dog that barks first thing in the morning. If you're wanting a home to yourself, this is not that. Just FYI.
Good location, close to downtown leadville and skiing. The hot tub was nice but the camera watched us the whole time, even though we were quiet and respectful. There were cobwebs throughout the house. Otherwise, the kitchen was well stocked aside from a coffee grinder.
Every thing you need to make your stay in Leadville as enjoyable as possible. Weâll equipped kitchen and grill for at home meals, and a nice living room for relaxing after a day outdoors. The hot tub was a welcome and added bonus! Will definitely be back next time weâre in town
Such a cute house in a quiet neighborhood. The grocery store is less than ten min away, and you're less than 20 min from all the major hiking trails. The hot tub was why I booked the property, but it was nice that their kitchen had all the needed cooking appliances. Will be booking in the future
We spent two nights at this comfortable well furnished spot. Very convenient location. Pet friendly which included pet treats and a backyard. Only comment is that there was a very strong disinfectant smell on arrival-not a bad thing if you arent overly sensitive.
