Good location and comfortable 3 star hotel

The location is convenient, just across from the metro station entrance and in a busy area. The reception area is small and gets very crowded. The reception staff are quite 'indifferent' with customers and so the the customer experience is not great: this is a management issue and should be rectified with better training and staff recruitment.

In a very vibrant area of Lisbon. Several walkable neighborhoods close by. Extremely helpful front desk staff. Very good restaurants nearby. Close to tram and Metro, National Museum of Contemporary Art. Walked 10 minutes to Fado in Chiado musical performance. Nothing but positive things to say about this hotel.

Absolutely loved my room here, it was clean and very beautiful. Arrived early and there was an option to drop-off bags which was greaf. Probably the best area possible to stay in Lisboa, it is so lively and close to everything. Would definitely come back

Rooms are large enough, a little tatty. Clean modern bathrooms. The hotel is smelly. Outside entrance rundown , hard to notice. Baixa - Chiado Metro is in front but BEWARE it has 4 huge escalators up , some often not working.The staff chat and giggle amongst themselves while clients wait. Check in takes forever. 2 nd stay by default, same review

Subject: Urgent Dispute Regarding Hotel Stay – No Response from Expedia YET!!! (Hotel Borges Chiado Lisbon-Portugal Check in 02/08/25 Check out 02/11/25) Confirmation: Expedia itinerary: 73022580644024 I am extremely disappointed that Expedia continues to sell rooms at this hotel despite being aware of its unacceptable conditions. I recently stayed at this property and was shocked by the level of filth, including a dirty toilet, stained mattress, and an unbearable smell. I have taken multiple pictures as evidence of the unsanitary conditions. I immediately contacted Expedia to express my frustration and file a complaint, yet I have not received any follow-up email as promised. I need to formally dispute this booking and expect a resolution as soon as possible. This place doesn’t even deserve a 1 out of 100 rating—it was truly a horrible experience. Let me know on the next steps for submitting my photos and processing my dispute. If I do not receive a response promptly, I will escalate this matter further. The property is nice enough. Good transit, Ok breakfast. There are 5 staff behind the counter chatting and ignoring clients , you can stand and wait 5 minutes before they address you. The hotel needs s retrofit of plumbing as it is smelly.

The location of the hotel is very good. Front desk staff not friendly. Housekeeping they clean the room every day but please use bathroom cleaner the bathroom on our 3rd days has bad smell already. Breakfast is just basic, good to start the day. But the attendants in the breakfast area needs to improve their attitude not even smiling no greetings.

An Okay Stay

We had a few issues. Biggest being getting food poisoning from having breakfast. This was disappointing because I was stuck in the room for two days of the seven I was there. Management did not offer any recourse, I believe we should have received some compensation. Also the rooms and corresponding pictures do not match. The hotel blamed Hotels.com for using wrong pictures but their website showed same. The front desk staff were friendly.

Good stay, could be great with full rehab

Good stay, great location, but it could be a fine destination with a full rehab of the property. There is a bad smell in all of the rooms that we visited and common areas for certain, as referenced in other reviews. There is also a lot of great inner lobby space, like maybe they removed the pools and spa etc, that was vacant but was cool looking. Could be great and well needed cocktail bar for the area.

Every thing you see on the photos is what you should expect during your visit. What we didn’t expect was a major accident in the bathroom when the bathroom sliding door came off and it literally shattered into a million pieces and exploded at my son in the shower causing some nicks on his hand, arm and lower body. We thought our son slipped and fell on the shower glass but as he was moving the glass door to open it, the glass door shattered. While the staff was very concerned and attended to him medically, the whole experience of hearing the glass shatter and our son being injured from the glass pieces was very traumatizing. They did give us another bedroom to get ready in. But this a very a bad experience for us.
