I was already feeling weird about the check-in process, as I had to meet the “owner” at a random bookstore to get my keys. Then he walked me to the apartment, which felt very unsafe. He told me to leave my shoes outside the apartment and if I’m afraid they’d be stolen, I can put them in a closet inside.
In the apartment there was him and another man there. I was very confused because I assumed this property would be empty and I’d have the place to myself. The owner said it’s advertised as a room on VRBO so I shouldn’t be surprised, and then told me he and his roommate would not be staying there tonight.
They both left for 5 minutes and then the other roommate came back and went straight back into his room and said if I felt uncomfortable he could leave. The whole experience made me scared and icked out so I left and never went back or ended up staying over. Would not recommend, especially if you are a single woman staying there.
