Just another mass market tourist hotel

Room was cramped although decently equipped. Breakfast 'service' non-existant - all self service. Poor selection of cereals. Dining room tired with cheap furniture. Have stayed in better 'budget' hotels to be honest. Everything wad 'ok', but this one fails to stand out or be memorable in amongst all the mass market tourist hotels of London

Thistle Bloomsbury

Have stayed her previously and although rooms are in need of being updated, were always a decent size and perfect for what we needed location wise. I booked the same room as always, double room, not a small double, but this time we were given a tiny room, which i knew would be as was in a corner between 2 other rooms. The heat in the room was awful, i couldn't sleep, bathroom was tiny and could not move, definetly not the rooms we'd had on the previous 2 occassions. I booked a few weeks in advance but the only difference was i didn't book direct and feel we were penalised due to this as they offered an upgrade and kept emailing me this all week, but of course I'd have to pay. I used a blue light code for 12% off but they offer 25% on their own Thistle website so feel it was really not fair and we certainly wont be staying here again as this room wss awful and should really be priced as a small double. The shower was also not fit for purpsoe as even when standing in it the shower tray was filling up and nearly flowing over into the bathroom. Quite disheartened as we have stayed before and chose this over another hotel we regularly stay at due to the discount.

Great room overlooking the street. Room very clean. Bed very comfy, shower a bit small and tired but clean. Tea and coffee making facilities, complimentary biscuits and water. Breakfast had very good choices from cold to hot food. Staff very polite and friendly.

Came for one night to watch a west end show. Great location only 20 minutes walk away. Small room but fine for what we needed for just one night. Bed wasn’t that comfy in my opinion however my partner said it was ok. Floor boards quite squeaky however definitely stayed in louder hotels. Room and hotel was on the whole very clean. Breakfast was good too. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a one night stay.
