The home was exactly as described…actually better! Plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the space. Incredible views from high up in the canyon. Loved the outdoor bar (but wish we could have gotten the outdoor TV to work). Had fun playing ping pong and pinball. Great hiking space and the sunsets were amazing. Ideal property to relax…honestly no need to leave once you’re there. Cell reception is spotty but better to put your phones down to fully enjoy the property. Very clean with all the amenities we could have hoped for.

Beautiful house with a beautiful backyard and view
We are beyond happy that we chose this as our engagement dinner. We had a small get together with just family for a dinner and every single person was in awh how beautiful the scenery and house was. It was just perfect. The house, the view, the ambience, the backyard. We got lucky to stay the night before the dinner to get settled and enjoy it just my fiance and I and it is definitely a dream house. The house is bigger and more spacious then the photos. This house went above our expectations and the host was very quick to respond and help with any concerns prior to showing up. We plan to stay again in the future with some family members!

We spent a week here over Thanksgiving with family and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The property is comfortable with plenty of space indoors and outside. It was so quiet and peaceful yet close enough for the surfers in our group to head down to the beaches.

Beautiful but a bit broken
The house is an absolute beauty in an incredible location that our group of 8 had no issues accessing - about 10 -15 minutes up beautiful winding roads similar to those in national parks and tucked away just enough so it feels like just you and the views. Similar to other reviews we had seen prior, the only issues lay in the state of some parts of the house. We were warned that we should notify the hosts of anything broken or damaged upon checkin which we did as what we thought initially there was just some damaged decor but throughout our stay more and more small issues became apparent such as broken outdoor furniture, hair iron burns in a counter, a yard torn up by animals, etc. It was a bit anxiety inducing to not know if we were expected to investigate every portion of the large property to ensure we wouldn’t be held accountable for any of the many damages and wear to the home while also trying to enjoy our limited time to relax after our wedding. Outside of that there were also many critters on the property beyond the groundhog but we felt prepared based on previous reviews and thankfully had fun seeing so many different creatures up close in the yard (snails, beetles, tarantula!). Do beware of mice in the house though, we only encountered one which we escorted out but food has to be put up at all times. All in all we highly recommend for those up for the escape into nature but don’t expect perfection!

Review
I wanted to give some more details based on my recent experience that might be useful for others looking at this property. Pros: 1) Obviously beautiful location 2) rooms/beds as described. Comfortable mattresses 3) clean 4) charming, with a beach hippie vibe 5) well stocked kitchen and bathrooms (I brought my own kitchen knives since we are somewhat local) 6) fast responses from owner 7) Tesla charger Cons: 1) the house is not super tightly sealed from the exterior so there are “visitors” from the outside that got in. It’s just part and parcel of the beach shack vibe although sealing holes and gaps and installing window screens would solve this. 2) the exterior furniture is quite weathered and some of it needs to be replaced. We did not spend as much time outside as we would have liked to. 3) the dishwasher does not wash well; we ended up just washing things by hand. While the outdoor grill fired up, the ignition had to be done manually and it wasn’t really as clean as I like to keep my grill. 4) none of the tv remotes worked or didn’t have functioning batteries. We ended up bringing batteries of our own and then took them back home with us. Obviously not a huge deal, but somewhat annoying. 5) queries before check out, which is a slightly busy time to begin with, that included requests to start a load of laundry before we departed and asking if we were going to check out early. Not a huge deal, but yet another thing to add to my list as we organized our departure.

We had difficulty using the key code. We were in touch months in advance hoping for early check in. Waited to hear all afternoon about the status of our check in time. We were never contacted and we waited all afternoon to hear. Time was important- we had our son’s wedding. Upstairs bathroom was not clean. Stains on toilet seat.

Beautiful property
My husband and I rented this house for a portion of our honeymoon. The views are unbelievable and the property is beautiful, however communication with the owners isn’t great. At one point on our trip we were playing music on the house speakers very quietly at noon on a Tuesday and we received texts from the owner threatening to charge us extra if we didn’t turn it off. We were also expecting there to be an outdoor TV screen based on the photos of the property, but there wasn’t. When we checked in at 4pm, the cleaners were still working until around 6pm so we just had to sit around awkwardly until they left (not really how you want to kick off your honeymoon). None of these things are huge deals, just kind of annoying when you’re paying over a thousand dollars a night. All in all I wouldn’t rent this property again, however it was beautiful

Mice problem
The property was beautiful but on our first full day there we smelled something awful for a few hours and when we realized it was coming from under the couch, we found 2 decomposing mice on sticky traps. That night we also saw a mouse running across the kitchen floor. My friend also found a cricket in her pillow. We alerted the property managers and were told how strange that was and that we were probably leaving doors open. We weren’t. After insisting, pest control came the next day to put out more traps (hope they check them moving forward) and spray around the perimeter of the house to avoid insects coming in. After this we no longer found insects inside but the mouse running across the floor while we were watching TV was a nightly occurrence. A lot more needs to be done to control these kind of vermin inside the house. We have enjoyed the house during our stay. I hope there is better coordination with pest control in the future. For now, we want to believe the cleaning crew did a very thorough job before we got here, but it is difficult to believe that they did not smell the dead mice. They need to be more careful in the future, and perhaps not clean just the surfaces. Some of us also live, or have lived, in rural areas, and understand critters happen, but it is also expected that when we pay as much as we did for a place of this caliber, that we would expect not to find dead or live mice inside the house. only received $200 back for all these problems so buyer beware

Great view and grounds. A little smaller than the photo impressions but overall, great experience. House numbers are not on the house so it was hard to know if I was at the correct house. There are only 3 house options on that road so know that you are the right road. Just find the house that looks similar to the photos. Keep in mind, you are pulling into the driveway and it looks a bit different.

This is the second time I have rented this property and we love it. The view is to die for- once you walk in you are immediately blown away by the amazing view in front of you. The outside living spaces make this hope truly special. The outside kitchen is a dream- and has the cutest outside bar!!!! Can’t wait to rent it again.

This property is so beautiful. There is so much to do, you dont even need to worry about making outside plans. Everything was clean and everything had what they need. The only mishap was the check in process (door wouldn't unlock) but the property managers were available to help. We had a great time.

Bachelorette!
Overall I had a great time for my low key bachelorette there! It is very hard to get there but the views are worth it. The property manager was easy to talk to by email. The views were gorgeous. The pictures of the actual vrbo was accurate. They had a low of new appliances from Viking. We cooked a lot of food while we were there. The only big issue was there was a mouse in the VRBO when we got there but the area does have a lot of wild life. Also, the jacuzzi had a lot of bugs so we did not end up going for a dip. Overall, my friends and I made great memories there

Amazing Views
The property has amazing views and outdoor spaces. Both the property and the house were beautiful. We hired a singer/guitarist for our last night during sunset, and it was an incredible evening outside. The property manager was very responsive and helpful. We had a wonderful weekend. The only downside was the bugs, though I think that’s expected with being deep in nature. Lol. Just come prepared with bug spray. The only other thing to be aware of is Lyft seems to be the only service who will pick you up at the house, so schedule your ride in advance and you should have no problem. Great house, great stay!

Had a short stay at the property, it is absolutely stunning. Beautifully set up with a lot of activities to do. My only gripe is that the Hot Tub was not very intuitive, we were not able to get the Heat to work.

Beautiful Malibu home
Me and my seven friends had a lovely time in this home. It's exactly as described, and the outdoors are truly amazing. Based on other reviews I was afraid we might hear from the owners about noise or parking, but we went inside each night at 10 p.m. and didn't hear anything. My only advice: bring a portable speaker if you want to be able to listen to music. I'd love to stay again.
