A great stay

This is a great stay. A cross between serious history and beauty and camp. Through today's eyes, you do get taken back in time. Do a tour. The Chowder House restaurant is excellent food even in a very average environment. Staff were all so wonderful, helpful. We didn't even see all that there was to the ship...ran out of time. So many great displays etc. Room had a comfortable bed and great linens. You have to give up a little modern conveniences, but this is history, right?

Incredible place to stay by far. The rooms are just as they would have been 90 years ago and it shows in a good way! The only drawback is proximity to things around the LA region since this is literally as far west as one could go!

Room was dirty, old, dingy, had an ADA room yet had to walk full length of building to room. Unacceptable. Upon exiting could t locate elevator. Staff in hallways ignored us. Ended up carrying 3 large luggage’s up a flight of 15 stairs. Staff even walked by and did not offer any assistance. We have chosen this property twice for location to the cruise terminal, but we’ve decided never again. Its convenient location isn’t worth any of the inconveniences and dirtiness that we had to deal with. Very disappointed.

A very cool experience!

A very cool place to stay! Highly recommend - the ship is old so expect the rooms and furniture to all be old. They could upgrade the rooms a bit - replace carpets and some of the furniture!

Stayed in room 4010 in the king deluxe room portside. Per night there's $32 parking fee for overnight and you can enter and leave as much as you want if staying at the hotel, and resort fee is $23 and includes 2 water bottles in the room, and 24hr fitness room with water refill station, wireless wifi, and includes the ship museum you can walk around the ship reading the historical facts. The ship controls the heat and the room was warm at night. We did hear our neighbors talking during the day the walls are paper thin and the ship offers earplugs and extra blankets if needed. We were mindful of the thin walls and whispered at night when talking. It's a historical ship and they have kept the art deco decor throughout the ship and it's a work in progress on renovations. The room had original wood work, fixtures, and the bathroom had original sink, toilet, tub and flooring. The ship is old and historical but kept clean and has charm. There's a midship market you can grab ready made sandwiches, snacks, pastries, yogurt, fruit, drinks, coffee, and ice cream bars. We ate at the Chelsea Chowder House at night and there's a nice view of downtown Long Beach. The ship is close to Shoreline Village and downtown for shops and restaurants, and close to the cruise ship terminal. We went to the art deco Observatory bar at night which last call is at 10pm. There's a small game room that has checkers, foosball table, and shuffleboard table. There's guided tours offered for a fee.

We stayed here for a night before jumping on a Carnival Cruise. The Queen Mary is such a cool walk through history. And then literally walk next door to the modern day equivalent.

Stay was decent nothing spectacular and wasn’t expecting it to be. The ONLY issue I have is one of the housekeeping managers on duty at the time of my stay was super unprofessional. The male attendant approached, knocked on the door minutes before checkout time and without consent proceeded to open my room with his access key. I sent my fiancé down to take some of our belongings to the car not realizing I’d have my privacy invaded without an ounce of remorse. No further compensation was offered when complaints were made to the front desk and manager on duty. Truly appalled and disgusted to say the least.

The Queen Mary stay was simply amazing. The history alone made it worth it. The rooms however need some TLC. New outlets, replace some light bulbs, extra cleaning. Such a great attraction, just needs some TLC. Will return though!
