They cancelled by booking and sent me to another sister hotel only to find it closed and padlocked up. No notification from the hotel or Hotels.com or Expedia. No response to phone calls, emails before re confirmation of the move or complaining afterwards.
Appalling customer service from all parties...and i've been in the industry 20 years.
Whilst Colin was very plesant and helpful at reception overall the place needs a total revamp . Our room had a broken window a dripping shower all night and mould growing along the tiles. There was also a massive hole in the ceiling along the hallway seats broken at the bar . The staff are working hard and are lovely but the place needs an injection of serious cash
I would just like to say that I have never had a problem at this hotel. If I did not like a particular room I just have to say so and the very helpful and friendly staff will immediately move me. For a Budget Hotel WITH air conditioning it is absolutely ideal for my weekly stay. Free WiFi and multi-channel TV services, bathroom essentials and tea and coffee making facilities all included. Big free car park that is secured overnight lets me relax without feeling edgy. It is also very quiet, with proper blackout curtains and a cleaning staff that are also engaged in ensuring that bed linen and general cleanliness is top grade. It is a budget hotel, so do not expect 5* luxuries, but for what you pay it is actually a real treasure.
Two twin rooms booked , one was just acceptable as the beds were clean however the floor was wet in places with water apparently from the ceiling and the shower was somewhat mildewed. The second room the beds were clean but we should have been alerted by the overpowering smell of air freshener which as it wore off left a truly horrible smell of some sort of rot. The shower was totally unusable because of black mould. Fortunately this was literally a stop over to the Airport. Horrible. Even the entrance was littered with cigarette butts.
Very small room on top floor, Very squeeky bed.
broken shower head and shower door that caused water to go onto bathroom floor although door closed. sockets only on one side of room so no space to iron.
on leaving in the morning after checkout the gates to car park were locked meaning having to go back into hotel to get it unlocked.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service

Shower was moldy pillows flat when we asked for more none turnsd up
Whilst a good location and price the saying "you get what you pay for" if very true. Cheap hotel, cheap facilities. Broken blind in bedroom, blind in bathroom had holes in it. Tired looking corridors and reception area. Felt cheap.
Check in took a long time with the staff member struggling to find a key for the chain on the door. Who then seemed to struggle finding my reservation on their system. Who then needed to check the room had been cleaned before I was given the key. The hotel is dated and in desperate need of refurbishment. The staff looked scruffy, the carpets were stained and the bed uncomfortable. Not a great stay.
Well where to start hot water was not hot but it was brown and yes I did say brown
So was the shower head and the sealent around the shower not a good sign " not that I was getting in anyway "
Lots of people ‘hanging out’ in the car park and around reception. Carpets stained, paint peeling off the wall. Hotel looks like it has been furnished by the company that grossly underbid for the travelodge contract. Room window didn’t close so traffic noise all night, the odd plane going over the only relief. For some reason the window had a rug permanently attached to it instead of a traditional curtain arrangement. There seemed to be coming and going all night and several parties/fights/room redesign sessions until 5 in the morning. No hot water in shower. Gave breakfast a miss. I’d rather sleep in my car. Not that I got any sleep.
We chose this hotel as was close to work, the staff were polite, check-in was easy, the room was clean and tidy. extra air-con was provided. food was good, only thing that let it down was the bar had limited drink options both soft drink and alcoholic
Got there to be greeted with an awful smell in the very dated bathroom - cracks everywhere, shocking painting and decor. The chairs in Reception were ripped and filthy and when asking for a drink at the bar there was literally nothing there. The barman just said “welcome to Luton”.
I only stayed for one night. The first room I checked into had a broken toilet and aircon. I was given keys for a second room. When I went into it, the room hadn’t been cleaned there were towels and rubbish all over the bed. The third room also didn’t have working aircon and the bed was broken so sloped to one side. Overall the presentation of the whole hotel was very poor with smashed electrical sockets for example. Also no sockets near the bed in any of the three rooms. Strongly suggest avoiding.
After going in the ancient lift and finding our room on the winding path of the hotel floors we reached our room only to discover that our key didn’t open our door. Back downstairs we went carrying all our bags and suitcases when we were given another key and we asked if we could change rooms due to some noisey neighbours which the hotel staff happily applied. Back up to the 3rd floor and we open the door only to be horrified that a naked man was asleep on the bed. We scurried out of the room to try and save him from embarrassment and we went back downstairs and told the staff exactly what had happened and we got no apology whatsoever or any concern regarding the poor man who’s room we had entered. Finally we got to our room and we ended up barricading ourselves in with our suitcases and bags to ensure the same horrific thing didn’t happen to us. Oh, and despite us clearly struggling with all our bags and us having to go back down to reception and up to our rooms 3 times, no one offered us any help or consolation for our disgusting visit. I do not recommend. Save your self the hassle and pay double for an acceptable hotel.
