We planned a trip to Downeast Maine and this home was the perfect place to hide away from the world and recharge. The home was exactly as described! The beach just down the road was a daily excursion where we hunted and found a lot of sea glass, kayaked, and climbed around the large rocks, boulders, and receding tides. We even saw a seal and heard some whales several times. My son (7) and niece(11) begged to go down multiple times per day! There were plenty options in the nearby town for dining and getting any necessities. Helen’s Restaurant really was every bit as incredible as described. We took several trips to places all within 30 minutes- Lubec, West Quoddy Head Lighthouse (a must see for incredible views,) and Moose Cove (another great little hike!) Then returned in the afternoon and evenings for a campfire and some card games. Watching the sunset off the back porch was breathtaking. The home was so cozy and truly felt like home. The road out front was a bit busier than we anticipated but it wasn’t a bother and the kiddos knew well enough to stay back. The windows let in a perfect breeze during the day and in the evenings that kept the house cool. We did speak with the homeowner, Julie, a few times and she was amazing, helpful, and so kind. We would not hesitate to stay here again and would absolutely recommend this property to anyone we know looking for somewhere in the future. Thank you for sharing your special place with us!
