Les points forts : Propreté
Dockside Marco Island
Other than the check-in process, our stay on Marco Island was great. The unit was clean, well-stocked, and in a good location. Also, we feel the price for our stay was very reasonable. The one problem we had, and it was a big one, was our move in day. Since I had yet to receive the code to access the key box so that we could get in, I messaged the owners in the morning of our move in day. I got no response. Shortly before our arrival, and right around the stated check-in time of 4:00, I sent another message. Still no response. I tried to call the owner. No answer. Things were not looking good. Another message went unanswered. We went to the property anyway. The door was locked, and we didn’t know how we were going to get in. Fortunately, a tenant took pity on us and got a hold of the condominium manager, who let us in with a master key. Finally, around 6:00, as I recall, the owner called. I was on the phone at the time, but I called back a few minutes later. She said that she had sent me an email a couple of weeks prior that contained a video with move-in instructions. I never saw the email/video (I’m thinking it probably went to spam, and since I didn’t recognize the email address, I probably just deleted it). The owner claimed that the email showed that it had been read. I don’t know how that is possible, because I never saw it. Either way, it seems to me that the owner of a unit should be available for any questions or concerns, especially on move in day. This was not the case. Even worse, I do not recall receiving any kind of apology for what happened to us. That is unacceptable. After this opening day debacle, everything was fine, and we went on to have a wonderful time on Marco Island. The move-in process, however, was unpleasant to say the least, and cannot be overlooked.
