I absolutely loved this stay. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and charming, and the beds were very comfortable. Great location, breakfast was good and the shower water pressure was strong. Would stay again. The staff was very friendly and cheerful. Thanks for having us!
This deserves 100/10. Room and shower amazing. We had the home cooked tasting meal. On a par with Michelin restaurants.
Thank you so much
The town , castle and modern art gallery are out of this world.
So you’re going to Japan, you want a stop beyond the megalopolis experience; visit Matsumoto. The “crow castle” is in this beautiful, walkable smaller city in the Japanese Alps.
This Ryokan is exceptional; the staff, the rooms and the location is perfect.
A taste of tradition on a street loaded with authentic shops and restaurants, even the tiny but excellent Matsumoto Brewery is just across the street. You can walk everywhere here, surrounded by mountains.
We loved this Ryokan. It’s walkable from the train station, very clean and comfortable, and the staff are very kind. The chef that makes breakfast in the morning is superb!
Accommodation highlight of our trip to Japan! The beds were soft like clouds, air con was perfectly chilly, and the hosts were incredibly friendly and gave us a great dinner recommendation. Would stay again!
Amazing team at the Ryokan. Lovely and beautiful traditional rooms with lovely tatami. This is one of the best places I stayed in Japan.

Loved the property. In a very quaint area; quiet street, close to everything. Walking distance to train station.
Only downside was there were no window coverings so we were awake with the sunrise at 4:30 am.
Also, no closets or bureaus for clothing, etc.
Staff is great. Place is very clean. Looks like they are renovating.
Best shower we had in Japan.
If you are wanting a true ryokan experience in a beautiful town with extraordinary castle this is the place. They also offer evening meals of very high quality. I am so glad we booked this.

Great old-style Ryokan with very friendly and helpful hosts in a nice neighborhood with lots of restaurants, bars, and shops. Excellent Japanese breakfast as well as Japanised Western breakfast. Walking distance from the train and bus station.
