Thanksgiving Celebration
We made a great choice in choosing the Riverfront Retreat for our Thanksgiving celebration. The large dining table fit our group and its close proximity to the kitchen made serving and cleanup a breeze. One bedroom is set apart from the others which worked perfectly for one couple who ducked out at 5am to catch a flight out of Dulles (about an hours drive) without disturbing others in the group. We enjoyed hiking in Seven Bends State Park and even toured the Shenandoah Caverns (a short drive). Woodstock has limited restaurant opportunities for dinner but the Woodstock Brewery never disappointed. The Woodstock Food Lion was excellent for groceries. The weather was cold during our stay so we did not partake of many of the outdoor amenities. Our gathering around the firepit was cut short by rain. In better weather, there would have been so much more to do outdoors around the property. But we were content in the very comfortable indoors just visiting and eating. Great property! Would Highly recommend!

Perfect fall weekend
This house was was just perfect for our family's long weekend. It was close to everything we wanted to do and the property was ideal for just hanging out. We played basketball, volleyball, fished, and roasted marshmellows. The layout of the house was spacious and accommodated our family well. I highly recommend this property!

The perfect getaway
I spent the weekend here with my siblings and niece. The space was perfect and comfortable for 6 adults and a baby. Amber was a delight to communicate with and had a great welcome book ready for us. The house was clean and cute and the property itself was beautiful and serene (very buggy - bring bug spray!). The location was convenient as we were coming from NJ, NC, and DC. What an absolutely lovely house and location. Everything was perfect! The house has everything you need and more. We enjoyed sitting outside and taking in the peaceful surroundings. Star gazing around the fire pit, a few board games around the dinning room table, fly fishing and kayaking. Would definitely stay here again. And our host was so kind and easy to communicate with. Wonderful stay at the River House
Our two families stayed at the river house for a week, and had a wonderful time! Although it's not a huge house, it's well-designed for a big group: big couch for watching movies, plenty of beds, and lots of activities in and out of the house, including kayaks and tubes for the river, lawn games, and board games. We watched the neighbor tend to beehives and enjoyed sitting on the porch and relaxing. Great place!

Perfect for a weekend getaway
My friends I got together for a guys' weekend, and this house was perfect! It's a really nice place with comfortable beds, a great table for board games, and a super short drive to Woodstock, which has some really good restaurants. Amber, our host, was friendly and communicative, even going so far as to ask her neighbors to send a video of the snowy roads so we can get a sense of how treacherous they were (they were fine; we had no problems). I'm already thinking about when I can come back with my wife and kids. I've stayed in many houses like this in the Shenandoah valley, and I really think was one of the best ones I've found. Highly recommended!

New Years Trip
Every year, my friend and I go away on a New Years trip with our families! This year did not disappoint. There was so much room for activities. We built a fire outside, while the kids used roller blades to pretend the basketball court was an ice skating rink. It was wonderful! Well-supplied, spacious, and clean! This property was perfect for me and my 7 friends to do a girls weekend and celebrate my birthday. The host was wonderful at communicating, had the house adorably decorated for the holidays, and even left us a sweet gift for us all to enjoy. We spent most of our time on the porches enjoying the quietness of the area and the scenery. My Best Birthday Getaway Yet!
My friends and I really enjoyed this property. It was spacious, warm and had everything we needed for a fun and relaxing time indoors and outdoors. We like to cook and the kitchen was just perfect. And property was right near one of my favorite wineries - Star in the Valley. Amber made sure we were taken care of and even took the time to include a balloon for my birthday.
