When we arrived everything was neat, clean, and comfortable, though we thought we could hear construction banging below us. On our first full day we were simply getting our young kids ready to go to the pool when we heard intense banging on our door and yelling, with the only comprehensible words being profanities. When I opened the door and tried to get an explanation from an enraged woman all I got was more swearing and “the finger” as she stomped away. My husband (who had been in the bathroom during all this) came out to try finding her but in the mean time she called on our room phone to apologize. She was the owner of the unit below us and was so mad at our noise that she was banging here ceiling every time we walked around (which is what we had thought must be construction). I expressed to her that her actions were absolutely not ok especially since she’d been screaming with my four kids under six wondering what was going on. I explained that we hadn’t been doing anything abnormal or extra loud beyond walking around our unit. With some back and forth of her apologizing, getting upset and profaning more, and then apologizing again, she said she would be leaving the next day and hoped we’d have a good vacation. Ultimately I felt sorry for her because she just seemed a bit crazy. However, the rest of the trip we still felt we literally had to tip toe around so we wouldn’t disturb anyone in the hotel.
Beyond that our only issue was that when we went to ride the carousel or check out the miniature golf equipment they said there was a charge of $5/person because we were renting through vrbo not the hotel. On the rental listing it had said those amenities were included, which I would think they should be for anyone staying on the premises, so that was obnoxious.
Overall we still had an enjoyable trip. We liked the proximity to the local amenities and we felt the Zermatt was nice and well maintained.
