Beach Getaway
The location of the house was perfect 15 min to Rehoboth Beach. The bed was comfortable. My stay would have been better if there were hooks in the bedrooms for robes. The bathroom needed hooks as well for your towel. The tv in the livingroom was too high and the placement was awkward.

Ideal setting for a quick family get-away. We could not have asked for a more conveniently located home base to exlpore near-by beaches and attractions. It was our first trip to Broadkill Beach. We are big fans of the laid back vibe. The house was a cozy gathering spot at the end of the day. We loved the porch!

Perfectly Quiet Weekend Escape
I've been in love with Broadkill since visiting a friend many years ago. It is very quiet and more scenic to me than most bigger beach towns. The bay is wonderful for families to swim without worrying about rough surf. The town is bordered by a nature preserve, so there are just a lot fewer people and traffic. The Sea Shanty was more than enough space for our family of 4 and dog. We loved the screened in porch and frequented the very close store for breakfast and coffee. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen seemed newly refreshed. There were lots of games and beach chairs to use. The fenced in back yard was perfect for rinsing off our dog after his swim. The bay breezes were wonderful to sleep in, but there are air conditioners for when the air was calm. This was a great get-away before the rush of the school year starts up.

Great week at The Sea Shanty!
We loved the old-style bungalow touches and really enjoyed hanging out on the screened porch. Very comfortable stay and quick access to the beach and Broadkill Store. Lisa immediately responded to minor question. Perfect week with friends - would definitely stay again.

The BEST LOCATION in Delaware!
We loved that it took all of 3 minutes to walk to the ocean. It was wonderful taking our dog for a two-mile walk every morning. We so appreciated the gift card, and the hoagies we got from the Broadkill store made for a great first evening dinner. Broadkill beach is so very quiet - we feel as if we found the best beach in DE!

Week at Broadkill
My daughter, dogs and I spent a week in May at this cute cottage on Broadkill Beach. The house was clean and nicely set up. The screened in front porch is bigger than it appears and was perfect for hanging out. The fenced backyard was a godsend for the dogs. Although the cottage can theoretically sleep 8, I wouldn’t recommend it as the living area is very small and the one bathroom is tiny. My only (minor) complaint was that the outside shower wasn’t turned on during our stay. It would have been useful after coming back from the beach.

Low key, quiet and relaxing
I stayed for a week mid-May just before the summer season really kicked in. I worked part-days and the 5G wifi was strong. Brought my dog and we enjoyed walking 30 seconds to the beach! I like being removed from busier beaches but was a quick drive to Lewes for restaurants. Thank you!

Nicely renovated, and in a good location.
The cottage is nicely situated and charming. It has recently been renovated. It is on the small side but it worked well for my daughter and me. It was clean and nicely furnished and supplied. You will need your own coffee and sheets. It’s a short 1 minute walk to the beach.

Nice quiet get away
Met neighbor who was very nice and happened to be friends with a farmer my family knows. Would suggest replace the couch or put cover on it. Was very sticky and slick with whatever was used on it. Ended up putting 2 sheets on it before sitting on it. My best friend came for a couple of nights. She mostly stayed in big bedroom reading and getting some much needed sleep. My dog and I slept in the first room with queen size bed. I read a lot. Got to enjoy the beach and let my dog run one day. Was really nice to get a much needed rest from caring for my 93 year old mom since my 94 year old daddy passed in Dec 2021 after I cared for him.

Charming and Comfortable
Our family has a long history with this beach, so the mixture of old and new in the house brought back fond memories, while providing every modern amenity. A prime location, a responsive and supportive host, as well as the wildlife made this winter "bucket list" stay a winner.

We really enjoyed our time at this cottage. It was a great location within a few steps of the beach. It was clean and comfy and had all the things we needed. It was very cold and windy outside, but the house was warm and great to spend time just hanging out in. Will definitely be back!

Great place to stay
This house was a little gem. It seemed like an original beach house, with a decent amount of room, window air conditioners and fllor heaters. It was very comfortable. The interior design work was on-point for the season. The kitchen had many amenities. You supply your own linens, towels but there is a washer and dryer to use if needed. Our 30 lb dog loved to run in the fenced back yard. It was a short walk to the dunes and then to the beach. The fire pit and wood was a nice plus. The hosts answered questions in a very timely manner. It was a great experience.
